Listen to "Mother Earth" - sheer grace. Then listen to "Caged" - she sounds so desperate. And then listen to "Shot in the Dark" - sounds like a woman who has been scarred by life, and despite being waiting for her dearest, has grown to be tough by all the struggles.
The lyrics to those songs are very vague. They don't really tell all the story, it's her voice that does.
@Martin_Canine: I agree with you - probably Tarja has better vocal skills but to me Sharon sounds more vulnerable and this moves. And thanks for the correct understanding of the list idea - it's not about the best singers / singers with the best vocal skills (there are many other lists about that). This list has a different focus.
