They live in the Gulf of California and their main threat is getting caught and strangled in trawling nets. As of 2019, scientists estimate only between 6-22 vaquitas remain in the world. How are belugas number one when the population is actually between 40,000 and 80,000? It is vaquitas right now that need more help.
