Yes, yes, we all know about he horrible stuff, but there’s a reason why he was called Henry the Great for generations.

He created England’s first modern navy, cut ties Rome to found the Church of England, and consolidated and strengthened royal power. All three of these accomplishments (yes accomplishments) were highly instrumental in England’s development as a constinental superpower and modern nation.

His flaws and horrible acts discredit him as a person but they don’t negate his achievements.
