Hands down winner. Without Irish folk music, there would have been no American hill music; without hill music, there would have been no rockabilly; without rockabilly, there would have been no rock 'n' roll; without rock 'n' roll, there would have been no rock... A bit oversimplified, and all of it hinged on the blending with American black music. But you can see that Irish music played a huge roll in the evolution of American music. If you care to go back further, Irish music came from Iberian Celtic music, which came from the Middle East through Greece, Italy, and North Africa; and if you go further, you can hear similarities in Indian (India) music.
Well, our music now is generally pretty bad, but older Spanish music is great.
