Top 10 Examples of Bad Game Design In Good GamesWhile great games are everywhere and can be amazing, they can also be very flawed! And some of them have massive bad game design! These are ten of the worst offenders!
The Top Ten
The map is so confusing! And you forget which door to take to get to the destination you want! No wonder it's called the Great Maze! Scratch that. Make that the Great Daze! - ModernSpongeBobSucks
A giant maze of filler. Who thought this was a good idea? Fire them. - Zach808
This level is just so confusing - Martinglez
The stupid maze befpre getting to the boss.. - FerrariDude64V 1 Comment
Jasper Batt Jr. is by far the most awful flaw I've seen in a game so far!
According to Suda 51, the mastermind behind the No More Heroes Series, it was supposed to be unstatisfying to show that revenge is never something good! But if we already had the entire thing thrown at us after the Alice Battle and the whole character development of Travis, why was this necessary!
Gameplaywise its first phase was stupidly easy! Its second phase was cheap, because you couldn't react fast enough to Jaspers insane combos and due to his TWO INSTAKILLS ATTACKS!
And the third phase is just...why...? - CastlevaniaFanboy128
Kingdom Hearts II was actually the first game in the whole series I played and while its gameplay and story blew me away, the Prologue...
You see, having a huge backstory thing going on might seem like a great idea to start off your game, but Kingdom Hearts II did it in such a poor way! The whole prologue is incredibly boring and has nothing going on! No action, no fights, no story! And might I add that the first time I played this game it took me two hours to beat this!
The only decent things happening were the first two boss battles, which were actually very cool! - CastlevaniaFanboy128
Parace L'Sia is one of the cheapest and most aggrivating boss battles that I ever found in video games!
Simply she has a frickload of attacks, which she combos at high enough speeds to never let you attack her! And to make matters worse, her ultimate attacks include a cheap crystal, that can annihilate a third of your health or one, that heals her faster! And also she heals herself the whole time!
The person who created this boss must hate society! - CastlevaniaFanboy128
This temple is godly infamous among gamers! And while I hate the Great Bay Temple much more, the Water Temple is just so perfectly flawed!
Its entire design is so unmemorable and forgettable, which makes it easy to get lost!
The dungeon feels gimmicky, especially with having to change boots to progress every few seconds!
The whole dungeon was boring and tedious and had such awful puzzles!
And also I was stuck at this, because I couldn't find a particular key, which I only couldn't find, because the game didn't tell me where it was! - CastlevaniaFanboy128
Bogs Story is the most useless and boring thing I've so far experienced in a game!
What you have to do is catching Froggy, fair enough, HOWEVER the gameplay is extremly boring and revolves around gimmicky catching fishes! Not only that, but because of the stupid gameplay it is nearly impossible, unless you go out your way to find certain upgrades!
And it's not just one level! Because of Bigs incompetence, he loses Froggy after each stage, which means that you have to go through 3 stages, which all play the exact same! - CastlevaniaFanboy128
Disciple Lorithia is probably the only flaw in one of the single greatest games of the 21st century! Not only is she an awful, annoying and manipulative character, no, her boss fight is even worse!
She is big enough to block a giant part of the battle field, making it easy for her to push you in! Not only that, but she can easily push you into.the acid, that is surrounding the battle field, making it extremly hard for you to survive!
And let's not forget, how much of a difficult spike this battle is! - CastlevaniaFanboy128
Shadow of the Colossus is supposed to be a epic and emotional game, that makes you feel as if you're slaying giants!
Not only is this the smallest out of all colossi, it's also the worst!
Making it fall off from the battle field, by scaring it with fire made it lool pretty pathetic already! But once you try to attack it, the fight becomes awful! Celosia is attacking you faster than you can stand up and once you're on its back, it doesn't let you attack!
I didn't fell like an epic titan slayer, I felt like a gamer, trying to finish off one annoying boss battle! - CastlevaniaFanboy128
While being extremly disappointing, having an awful plot and far too linear gameplay, Metroid: Other M is a good game in my opinion!
Its main problem were its search segments, whicg made you search for things, like green blood on green grass! Those were frustrating and tedious!
And the final boss was a search segment!
MB spawns bugs, which are already hard to beat and respawn! But they aren't even interesting, they just have to distract you from MB, who you only have to aim your crosshairs at to win! - CastlevaniaFanboy128
This level is way too hard! It's harder than the boss level (the level that should be the hardest).
This level is not possible to be beaten by a human being! You have to keep a constant speed, without slowing down or hitting any objects! If you do, the game will kill you! The course is extremly long, has a lot of curves, rush-hour and sand traps, to slow you down!
This level is a thing of pure insanity to beat as keeping up is nearly impossible! - CastlevaniaFanboy128
I love this game, but this level is just crap. The level is way too long, the hardest parts are at the end, the level is padded out by block falling sections that are tedious and not that hard, and there are 3 bosses at the end. - Zach808
