Most Famous Individual Colored Diamonds

Most diamonds are colorless, also called white, but colorless is more accurate because diamonds are transparent and not actually white.
Colored diamonds are pretty rare and this list is about the most famous among them.
The Top Ten
1 The Hope Diamond

It was mined in India circa 1642 and was once a jewel in the crown of King Luis XIV of France.
Estimated value: $200-$350 million USD

2 The Daria-i-Noor Diamond

It's the largest pink diamond in the world and is currently part of Iranian Crown Jewels. It was mined in India.

3 The Heart of Eternity Diamond

It was mined in South Africa and was unveiled in 2000 as part of the De Beers Millennium Jewels collection. In 2012, there were rumors that the boxer Floyd Mayweather bought it for his fiancée, Shantel Jackson. De Beers refused to say whom they sold the diamond to, and so its current owner was left unknown.

4 The Moussaieff Red Diamond

Red diamonds are the rarest diamonds and this one was mined in Brazil

5 The Sweet Josephine Diamond

It's the most expensive pink diamond as of 2018 - in 2015 the Hong Kong billionaire Joseph Lau bought it for $28.5 million, for his daughter, Josephine, hence the name of the gem.

6 The Graff Pink Diamond

A very famous pink diamond that was mined in India

7 The Dresden Green Diamond

It's an old gem also known as "Dresden Green". It probably originated in India.

8 The Golden Jubilee Diamond

This is the largest cut and faceted diamond of any color in the world (mined in South Africa)

9 The Orlov Diamond

Its color is slightly bluish-green and was encrusted into the Imperial Sceptre of Russian Empress Catherine the Great. The gem is currently exhibited in the Kremlin, in Moscow (it's part of the Russian Diamond Fund's treasury). It was mined in India.

10 The Regent Diamond

It's last on this list because this gem is almost colorless with a pale blue hue. But I wanted to include it because it graced the crowns of King Louis XV, Louis XVIII, Charles X and Napoleon III. It was mined in India.
