Many YouTubers quit & some that quit had huge channels with many subscribers.
The Top Ten
1 zoella Zoe Elizabeth Sugg is an English YouTuber, vlogger, businesswoman and author. She is also known by her YouTube username, Zoella.

She once had a channel that reached nearly 12 million subscribers & she became the most famous YouTuber in the history of the U.K. Eventually she quit her main channel after reaching nearly 12 million, making her the 3rd most famous individual YouTuber anywhere to quit a channel (only behind Jenna Marbles & Anthony Padilla, the lead member of Smosh). She still has a channel but in the name Zoe Sugg & has only ~4.81 million subscribers, so she's nowhere near as popular as she used to be.

2 Joji Miller (Filthy Frank)

Like Lucas Cruikshank creating Fred, Joji Miller created a character (Filthy Frank) & became popular, with 6.61 million subscribers, which was more popular than Lucas/Fred. He invented the Harlem Shake meme which became his most popular video ever. He gained a lot of hate though & all the complaints led him to quitting vlogging & staying just in his character Filthy Frank. Eventually he grew out of his character & quit his channel but also all of YouTube (whereas Lucas still does YouTube in his own channel called Lucas) but also he suffered a neurological disorder that led to him getting seizures, which also led to him quitting.

My boi Filthy Frank made amazing mixtapes. He the king of dank you tubers because screw you and he had some seizures and stuff and turned into an R&B artist called Joji.
.
RIP Papa Franku. =(

I miss Filthy Frank.

After reaching ~12 million subs, the group Machinima quit their channel in 2019 & it was a historic loss of a channel for the YouTube community. However Machinima was a group & many other channels were from individuals.

Too bad, but too good.

7 RedKeyMon
8 Anthony Padilla

This was the real deal. This was what led to Smosh going downhill. They used to have an awesome channel until Anthony Left. His departure KILLED Smosh. There will never be another channel like it or a guy like him. R.I.P. SMOSH 2006-2017.

Worst thing to happen to Smosh. And YouTube. They were among the greatest channels and now it's dead.

The lead member of Smosh, who has over 24 million subscribers. He’s been with the group for the last 11 years. Eventually he decided to leave Smosh to focus on other works. The most shocking & saddest departure of a creator in YouTube history. ~24 million subscribers & leaving. He has his current channel, at ~2.8 million subscribers. The end of such an era.

Smosh can't survive without Anthony. He started it. It's the end of an era. A sad day for youTube.

Thankfully she returned to YouTube after ~2 years, though she eventually stated she quit vlogging to pursue her career on Bitcoin.

20 Bart Baker Bart Baker is an American entertainer, web-based comedian, video producer, singer and parody artist. He is best known for making parody videos of notable songs, which he posts on his YouTube channel.

He decided to move onto being a Chinese music artist after being more famous than Justin Bieber in China after just 6 MONTHS. SUCH a sad tragedy for ALL of YouTube.

21 Charlie McDonnell
