Top 10 Fantasy Book Series that Deserve Their Own TV Show

A Song of Ice and Fire, The Sword of Shannara and The Sword of Truth got their own shows and The Wheel of Time is currently getting one. So why not these brilliant series? In order for this list to work the series has to have more than 3 or 4 books. They can't be adapted into films because they have so many books in them. With that said, feel free to vote or remix.

The Top Ten

1 Discworld - Terry Pratchett Discworld - Terry Pratchett

41 novels. I already know it had a holiday special but why not adapt the whole series to television? It would be a great series!

2 The Horus Heresy - Various Authors

A book series that serves as a prequel to the game Warhammer 40K. Literally has 46 novels. This would be a completely awesome series!

3 Malazan Book of the Fallen - Steven Erikson

The series is extremely complex and has over 10 novels. Would fit good for T.V..

4 The Dark Tower - Stephen King

Thank God it is getting a T.V. show and hopefully they do something right with it cause the series would work much better as a show than it did with a film.

5 The Dresden Files - Jim Butcher

Currently 15 novels.

6 The Chronicles of Amber - Roger Zelazny
7 The Elric Saga - Michael Moorcock

Or better yet make a whole show about Michael Moorcock's multiverse instead of just adapting one series of his.

Long time coming. The ultimate anti-hero of sword & sorcery.

8 The Death Gate Cycle - Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman
9 Mistborn Series - Brandon Sanderson
10 The Black Company - Glen Cook

The Contenders

11 Percy Jackson Series - Rick Riordan
12 The Unwanteds - Lisa McMann
13 Unwind - Neal Shusterman
