Top 10 Favorite Books to Read

The Top Ten
1 The Bible

I love the bible and all the best quotes such as it's okay to have slave and beat them as long as they don't die or if you see your uncle naked your considered an abomination or if you disrespect your parents you should die. I swear somebody should google the fun stuff in the bible!

The Bible is God's love letter to us. How can it NOT be my favorite? Great to see this is Number One! Praise God!

Twilight is number three? Looks like there's a lot of teenage emo girls here!

Lets admit we aren't atheist, we love Jesus, we love his Words, Everything is our Salvation, Spread the words and spread the Wisdom.

The best book ever. Some people avoid to read it, but is our history, it is all types of books at the same time, history, autohelp etc.

2 Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

Harry Potter is no doubt the best. It's unique and the story doesn't even revolve on a love story just like almost all other famous books. Harry Potter did not become famous because of a good-looking lead role. It became famous because because it's a story you don't hear everyday. It's unimaginable and superb. Love stories are so typical, not that they ain't good or something... But Harry Potter just STANDS OUT. It's perfect with it's twists and everything. It's really a phenomenon.

The story line is amazing along with the subtle hints you have to really dig into to find out. Along with the awesome writing and the fact that J.K. rowling is Amazing at making even the little things come out big in the long run makes this the best series ever

I get that the Bible is number one, but twilight at number 3? Crazy. Harry potter is the world that all can escape in and none will return without having loved or learnt something from within this magic and bewildering universe. Nothing can beat it :) JK really should be proud!

Amazing book, the beginning of a journey. It's a shame that the series has finished I would love it if there were more books, about his kids perhaps?

3 A Game of Thrones - George R. R. Martin
4 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - J.K. Rowling

So many of my favorite characters died in this book, but I feel Hermione got even smarter (is that possible? ), Fred and George were funnier and everyone grew so much. We finally got to see where Snape's loyalties had laid. :'(

Amazing book to read. I couldn't put it down until I had read the book. George loses an ear, fred, Madeye, my favorite character Dobby, Bellatrix Lestrange (the ass) Voldemort and others die in this worldwide phenomenon.

This is the best HP Book I have ever read along with
Goblet of Fire. We finally find out everything in this book. Hats off to JK Rowling!

I am obsessed with the harry potter series. in this book, my favorite character died and it still became my favorite of the series. that's saying A LOT.

5 The Lord of the Rings - J.R.R. Tolkien

Outstanding, nothing can compare. Tolkien has created a whole world to explore and has influenced all fantasy books dramatically.

Fantastic, only time I cried at a book.

6 Twilight - Stephenie Meyer

I read this book 6 times and the sequel "New Moon" 3 times. Both of these books are the BEST. Everyone that I've told to read these books became obsessed with them. A must read!

That book was the best of what I ever read. I think it's the best book write so far.

7 Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - J.K. Rowling
8 Artemis Fowl - Eoin Colfer

Love this so much

9 Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets - J.K. Rowling
10 Everything Is Illuminated - Jonathan Safran Foer
The Contenders
11 Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - J.K. Rowling
12 The Hunger Games - Suzanne Collins

Exceptional. Such a great book, and the other 2 in the series are just as great. I love the book. Action packed, a page turner, thrilling, and has a great plot... Keeps you wanting more, and it gives you more till the last page of the third book (out of three books). Even after that, you'd wish there was still more. Please, people. This book is wonderful: it does deserve to be in the top ten at least.

NUMBER 48?! The best book I've read in a while. Keeps you reading till the very end. Mockingjay was a little harder to understand, though. Still, all good books.

Superb. Mind-blowing in every aspect.

13 Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince - J.K. Rowling
14 Magician - Raymond E. Feist
15 Looking for Alaska - John Greene
16 Redwall - Brian Jacques

AN AWESOME books definitely deserves before twilight. According to me, its only second to nothing.

My personal favorite. Can't see why it's not higher.

17 Eragon - Christopher Paolini

Good fairy tail about a couple dragons

18 Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban - J.K. Rowling
19 Promise of Blood - Brian McClellan
20 The Giver - Lois Lowry

This book is great! I could even feel the memories that the giver told Jonas. I have always thought that having a perfect life will be awesome... But now that I've read the book, I don't really think that having a perfect life is not so nice after all. But I highly recommended!

This book is way better than stupid twilight and harry potter, those books wouldn't even be famous if it didn't have a movie. did you know harry potter was rejected in publishing like more than 5 times!?!? The giver is popular and it doesn't have a movie

Good book to read at least once every year to couple of years...

21 Wizard's First Rule - Terry Goodkind

I love this series so much! It is one of the rare series that helps you find yourself with every single word. You find yourself identifying with each character. I identify with every one of the characters at different points in the plot. I learned so much about who I am, and who I will become, through reading this series. My family and friends mock me mercilessly, but it doesn't matter. With most fantasy stories, the plot becomes far-fetched and tired. Mr. Goodkind has the remarkable ability to write a compelling novel while simultaneously keeping all of the characters wholesome and realistic. Mr. Goodkind also uses a subtle Orwell-like writing style to bring light to both societal issues and outlooks. For example, in the third book in the series (The Blood of the Fold), Mr. Goodkind makes it so that a group of captured women are dressed in a style of clothing nearly identical to a certain subset of people living in oppression. He points out in an extremely subtle fashion the ...more

The characters seem so realistic in these books. What got me into reading them was the T.V. show Legend of the Seeker. You fall for the characters as soon as you start reading!

So good. I particularly like the first 4.. I think they taper off a little after 4, but give 'em a read anyways, I guarantee you will read the first 4 at least that many times!

22 The Lightning Thief - Rick Riordan

Good but very sad. It's worth it at the end.

23 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - Douglas Adams

I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I don't know the answer

24 Warrior Cats - Erin Hunter

This is the 2nd best book (s) ever! (net 2 the bible of course) I tell my friends that they should read it and tere always like "It's a book about cats. Seriously? "But it is awesome. I hated reading until me and my friend discovered warriors. The erins should really make more warrior catsbooks because they're great!

I love warrior cats! They are so interesting! I told my friends that 'do you read warrior books? ', and they said no. I told them if you read them, then you will not leave them. The same will happen to you. You know, they are my favourite series! I LOVE WARRIOR CASTS!

This is the only book that doesent give you too much detail, and is just interesting. It has turned me into a speed reader inwhich I was never a reader before. This deserves number 1!

this is as good as it gets this should be way above giver and fever 1793

25 It - Stephen King
