The quality of her voice is the best I've ever heard. Absolutely mesmerizing. - BobG

There is something in that voice like an extra dimension.
Something many are not used to hearing, and sometimes resist and deny.
Recommend: Surrender and rediscover your blunted emotions.

Her voice is wonderful!

From the moment Jackie walks on stage there is nothing but enraptured silence from the audience. Every note she sings is brilliance. The standing ovations afterward are incredibly deserved.

2 Alison Krauss Alison Krauss Alison Maria Krauss is an American bluegrass-country singer and musician. She entered the music industry at an early age, winning local contests by the age of 10 and recording for the first time at 14.

Alison is a one of a kind beauty. She has the voice of an Angel, along with the love and heart of one too. Her song's are true, soothing, loving, gentle, without the use of vocal props, or voice recordings.

One thing you know is she has a true band, one that love's and feels her music from her heart, and will follow her throughout their career.

Alison deserve the best, I can't wait to hear more music through time.

All the other singers on this list put together cannot compare with the angelic golden voice and soothing style of Miss Krauss! She will be recording long after all these other wanna-bes are forgotten history. The Grammy people seem to agree, she has more than all of them put together!

The voice of an angel, with the talent to play an instrument beautifully and to unselfishly collaborate with other artists of many different genres of music.

Truly angelic - and even better live!

3 Linda Ronstadt Linda Ronstadt Linda Maria Ronstadt is an American popular music singer. She has earned 11 Grammy Awards, three American Music Awards, two Academy of Country Music awards, an Emmy Award, an ALMA Award, and numerous United States and internationally certified gold, platinum and multiplatinum albums.

Linda Ronstadt possessed the most extraordinary singing voice in American popular music, covering a wide range of styles including folk, country, rock, pop, American standards, Mexican, Latin, and jazz. Aside from her amazingly powerful, yet sweet voice, Linda's diversity puts her on top in my opinion. Who else could sing so many different styles of music and do them so successfully? Nobody before or after her, and there will never be another one like her. Linda Ronstadt is truly an angel from heaven on Earth and she is a national treasure. Even though sadly she can no longer sing, her accomplishments and contributions to the music world will forever be cherished for generations to come.

Simply the most glorious singing voice on the planet. A woman with a powerful, joyous, emotional instrument. Surrounded by the finest musicians and a songwriter's champion. No one else like her then or now.

No one comes close to Linda - a singer with a 40+ year career with 11 grammy awards, plus endless other awards and nominations.

With a wealth of material across pop, country, rock, classical, standards, Mexican canciones, Latin - from the early 1980 she reintroduced us to traditional American country music (with Dolly and Emmylou on TRIO), the songs of her fathers homeland in CANCIONES DE MI PADRE and the wonderful songs of the great American songbook in WHATS NEW, LUSH LIFE & FOR SENTIMENTAL REASONS - all off these recordings are multi million selling, grammy award winning records treasured, played and still appreciated more than 30 years later.

A voice strong enough to tackle the toughest rock song duetting with The Rolling Stones to performing on & off broadway in opera classics like THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE and LA BOHEME.

no one can beat her, no matter the result of this poll...

she is the best and always will be.

Amazing voice... tonal quality, phrasing, timing, range, passion & power...everything! - all delivered perfectly for whatever the style or song required. She channeled the spirit of the song through the beautiful instrument that was her voice. Purity without a hint of the 'baby-doll' lilt of Allison.. (who I love too by the way! )

4 Aretha Franklin Aretha Franklin Aretha Louise Franklin (March 25, 1942 - August 16, 2018) was an American singer, songwriter and pianist. She began her career as a child singing gospel at New Bethel Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan, where her father, C. L. Franklin, was minister.

Seriously, Taylor, katy, and ariana are higher than Aretha franklin? Like the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, wow.

So sad that an "entertainer" like Beyoncé who can not actually sing, but does dance up a storm, is ranked above Lady Soul.

She is a legend...No contest here

Number one, without a doubt.

5 Ariana Grande Ariana Grande Ariana Grande-Butera, known professionally as Ariana Grande, is an American singer and actress. Her voice sucks! - sabrinafan

She has a 4 octave range and she can do whistle tones. I don't get why people think she can't sing, she is an amazing singer. You can not like her "higher pitched" voice but you can't say that she can't sing or is overrated cause she is a REALLY good singer.

Just cause you can hit high whistle notes doesn't mean you can sing? She has an airy voice that literally anyone can imitate so uh, yeah maybe she shouldn't be in top 10

She is amazing

Some of the most powerful vocals I have ever heard, definitely deserves to be over Katy Perry. She truly has a lot of talent.

Christina should be top 10, easily. Must be the kids voting who don't know any history.

Lol, Xtina should be at number 1. She's the best vocalist on earth!

Kids who don't know history?
Yeah, that's why Barbra Streisand, Aretha Franklin and Sarah Brightman are ahead of Xtina.
A couple of years ago on a T.V. special, 65-year old Aretha blew Xtina and Mariah Carey off the stage at the same time.
Aretha clearly did it on purpose, because she had this evil little grin.

14 Amy Lee Amy Lee Amy Lynn Hartzler, known professionally as Amy Lee, is an American singer-songwriter, classically trained pianist and composer. She is also the lead singer to the Arkansas band Evanescence.

She has a beautiful voice, and unlike most singers, can make her voice high and low accordingly. She is not much famous just because people nowadays want to listen to singers like Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry.

So much better that Ariana Grande. Amy's voice is amazing understandable and beautiful.

Amy Lee is such a powerful and skilled vocalist. Her voice moves me and makes my jaw drop from the sheer awesomeness.

Amy Lee has one of the most haunting voices I've ever heard. shocked that a few generic pop pricesses have been voted above her to be honest even at Whitney who also had a good voice early on but Amy is something else.

32 Anni-Frid Lyngstad Anni-Frid Lyngstad Anni-Frid Synni, Princess Reuss of Plauen, widely known as Frida Lyngstad or by just the mononym Frida, is a Swedish pop and jazz singer.

Jazz, Swing, Bossa-Nova, Pop, Rock, Opera. She's sung them all and when you have a voice and talent like hers, it's not a problem. Could she sing as high as Mariah Carey? As a mezzo-soprano, no though she certainly could produce soaring vocals as heard on 'Dancing Queen', many of ABBA's other songs and in her solo career. Could she sing as powerfully as Aretha Franklin? Unlikely but I can still picture her on stage, planting her feet and belting out the hits. A glorious sight and sound. What makes a great singer apart from the above needs control, emotion, timing and that almost indefinable quality to their voice. She somehow retains warmth and earthiness despite singing loud and proud. Sultry and smoky have also been used to describe her sound. Add to that the very sexy Swedish accent and it's an irresistible combination. - DeeJay3
