81 Joss Stone Joss Stone Joscelyn Eve Stoker, better known by her stage name Joss Stone, is a British singer, songwriter and actress.

She has such a soulful and strong voice. Plus she is not even 20 yet, so much to look forward to.

Maybe not one of the singers ever, but certainly one of the best now.
I love her music and she's got my vote ! - flammablepiss

She's got a strong and unique voice easy to listen to very good.

How can she be down here... she has a really strong voice and her singing is flawless

83 Alanis Morrisette Alanis Morrisette Alanis Nadine Morissette is a Canadian-American alternative rock singer-songwriter, guitarist, record producer, and actress.

It's interesting to note the wide diversity of female singers we are comparing here. Some like britney are just froth and bubble, some are vocal gymnasts such as Whitney and Celine, some are out and out pop like Madonna. The fact is if you are really after the whole dynamic range that includes sensitivity, ballads and power rock, then there is only one beautiful star: Alanis. If you doubt here 'octave range' try to hear ''one' live. It will make your hair stand on end.

The most beautiful and original voice. With so variable songs and many greatest hits. She is the best when you add up all these things.

I think she is the BEST. Super beautiful/original/clear voice. Not only sings all her songs but also writes all her own songs/unlike so many of the other vocalists out there. ANd.. Her songs are absolutely Genius. She Plays the Guitar and piano! She's Absolutely Gorgeous (inside and out) Love her hair. She's just AMAZING. Definitely should be number 1

Another one of the best judged by idiots top three at least

84 Mary J. Blige Mary J. Blige

Mary J. Blige has one of the best voices in Music, when she sing you feel her pain and hear her cry and when she perform on stage you really feel the pain she is going through in her life and the look she have on her face whe/ she sing No More Drama Live on stage it is a look of pain and Cry and suffering and anybody that can have such a look like that on stage can sing great, and Mary J. Blige also gives us club up tempo songs as well with songs like Family Affair, and she has a Baritone 4 Octave Vocal Range as well she is The Queen Of Hip Hop Soul and where ever she Goes for now on that crown will follow her forever, and she isn't the best singer of All Time, but she is (ONE) of the best singers of All Time and really know how to hit those soulful High Notes and really knows how to work with what she got as far as her Vocal Cords Love Mary J. Blige

Mary J. is one of my favorites. Mainly becuase not only can she sing, with power and conviction, but she seeps emotion. When she sang "No more Drama" at the Grammy awards a few years back, even Celine Dion was standing up, clapping, shaking her head like, "this woman is amazin!" that is great. I love Mary J Blige style, and strength as a woman, and what she sings about in her lyrics. I will be buying her next album too.

i cut for her because she sings about real things and trys to make feel what she been through. Also it don't always be about her she try to make it to where it can relate to most of the people in this world

Mary J Blige has one of the most soulful voices of all time. She should be in the top 15.

85 Debbie Harry Debbie Harry Deborah Ann "Debbie" Harry is an American singer-songwriter and actress, best known as the lead singer of the new wave and punk rock band Blondie.

They don't call her Blondie for nothing. She's sexy and very sassy that's why the lads love her! She's a legend that will definitely forever live on. What a super star.

Better than taylor

Such a powerful voice love her!

Shes the best singer ever.
Every teen girl should have a copy of parallel lines or eat to the beat cd

86 Patsy Cline Patsy Cline Patsy Cline was born Virginia Patterson Hensley on September 8, 1932, in Winchester, Virginia. She became a professional country singer in the 1950s, and became one of the most important artists in American music history. Patsy died on March 5, 1963, in a plane crash in Camden, Tennessee. She was inducted more.

Patsy Cline is an absolute icon who transcended any single genre of music. Even though she tragically died in 1963 in the prime of her career, one thing remains clear... At any minute during the day, there is a Patsy Cline song playing somewhere. Her songs are still heard today in numerous movies, commercials, and television shows. If you've never heard Patsy, go borrow, rent or check out at the library "Patsy Cline's Greatest Hits" and you too will know what millions of fans already know. There will probably never be anyone like Patsy Cline ever again. Her voice was unmatched and she set standards for singing that have been rarely, if ever, been equaled. Regardless of your age... Teen or senior... Patsy will draw you in and be someone you'll never forget, nor ever get tired of listening to.

I think Patsy Cline should deserve to be in the top ten. She had a beautiful voice and she put so much emotion into a song which is not heard today. Today a song is just sung but not with emotion. Her song "Sweet Dreams (of You)" shows the emotion that she could add with her voice into a song.
She did not acquire fans through making a fool of herself or dragging herself around on stage in skimpy clothing, she got fans because she could actually sing. She's the best female singer I have ever heard.

Most unfortunate that perhaps one of the greatest female vocalists of the 20th century gets so very little attention because the record companies can't make any money off of her because she is dead.
Willie Nelson wrote the tune"Crazy"
that when he recorded it went bust.
She did it and it was a major crossover hit.
Many of the women mentioned in this list would give liberty and limb to have such talent.

It's so difficult to rank all these wonderfully talented ladies. Patsy Clone would certainly be higher than 86th on my list, but I realize she is probably totally unknown to the younger people voting on this list. That's ok, she just sounds even better to me as a result - Ned964

87 Kate Bush Kate Bush

Kate Bush #69? Whitney Houston #4? Are you insane? Kate Bush is THE DIVA. Okay, let me explain it this way: there's Kate way way way up there and then there is everyone else. I would give my whole life in return for just one night in her presence, in her arms. All I want to hear on my death bed as I set out to wander the stars, is Kate singing, preferably from Arial. Thank you Kate Bush for all your wonderful songs! You are way way heads and leagues above the likes of Karen Carpenter. You are the voice of that astral queen, the great diva who is herself a constallation of stars. My ears will never be the same. - gflong2010

How can possibly anyone compare anything to Kate bush? She is so influential starting from her brilliant dances, moving on to her unique songs and uncanny singing voice.
This and more make her the pretty-much perfect artist that she is and entitled for the first spot. Hands down.

I like Kate Bush because she is not conventional.
In her early years she really wasn't afraid to push limits, both vocally and in terms of song-writing.
Later on her voice became so rich and emotional.
A singer, song-writer and producer who wasn't creating music just to fill another album.

So many voters in this poll have not had a chance to hear very many of these singers. That's too bad for them. Kate isn't the only one who is slighted here, but she is definitely one of, if not the, greatest. For her 1978 live concert series, The Tour of Life, they had to hire opera singers as her backup vocalists because no one else could match her own backup vocals from her albums!
Hint: buy The Hounds of Love and be thrilled. Buy The Dreaming and be completely blown away!

Most angelic voice in the world! Imagine if ABBA hadn't broken up! What other great songs would we have had then? Love the band too by the way

Been listening to her since the 70's and don't plan to stop anytime soon. She has a voice that you never get tired of hearing. Can't say that about many of today's singers.

This lady has the ability to cry with her voice! One of the purest most spine tingling voices iv ever heard gives me goosebumps! And stunningly beautiful too great combination my number 1.

Yes a great singer way down here at no.87. I think it really says a lot for how talented this list is. - Ned964

90 Nicole Scherzinger Nicole Scherzinger Nicole Scherzinger, born Nicole Prescovia Elikolani Valiente on June 29, 1978, is an American singer, songwriter, actress, dancer, and television personality . She first rose to fame as the lead singer of the pop/r&b group The Pussycat Dolls. In fact, Nicole was pretty much the only girl in the group more.

She is amazing... and she has some pretty amazing songs, but they are unreleased so most people don't even get to hear them... it's like whoever is managing her picks the wrong singles on purpose and the illuminati music industry wants her to fail because she didn't sell out like most of the other singers... it pisses me off when people bring up the Pussycat dolls or say "that girl from the Pussycat dolls group" she has so much more to offer than that she needs to put more of that talent in her singles that she has in her unreleased songs, live or when she sings classical so people can be exposed to it and realize that she can actually sing... she's not just another Ciara... Ashanti... Kelly Rowland... Rihanna... Beyoncé... Perry... gaga... etc. Amazing sexy beautiful talented girl who will always have a huge space in my heart but needs better music! Listen to her sing "I'll be your love" just beautiful!

Are you kidding me? Nicole is below stinky perry on a best female singers list? This woman is amazing, beautiful, talented, and really sexy! Stinky perry shouldn't even be here, she can't sing live, and perry's singing voice and her speaking voice are just grotesque! Nicole even sounds sexy in her speaking voice...I love it! Katy stinky perry sounds like a man almost, she makes me think of body oder when she talks, that raspy horrible voice! Stinky perry is horrible in every aspect! - NicoleJohnnyLutherBrianFan

She's amazing, she can sing many different genres, with a huge range, amazing belt, and flawless high notes. And can sing 'I will always love you' better than Whitney Houston when she was live!

She should be a bit higher lol

91 Edith Piaf Edith Piaf Édith Piaf was a French cabaret singer, songwriter and actress who became widely regarded as France's national chanteuse, as well as being one of France's greatest international stars.

such an amazing vocal talent! she is one of the very best by far, why is she down here at 143? she must be at the top 10 at least! her songs are so recognizable and unique at the same time, her voice is powerful and has so much emotion!

The Little Sparrow. Vote for the singer who stole my heart with her incredibly heartfelt singing.

She has such a haunting voice. Even if you don't understand French you will be touched by the wonder of it.

Not many people know about her...

93 Grace Slick Grace Slick Grace Barnett Slick is an American singer-songwriter, musician, artist, and former model, widely known in rock and roll history for her role in San Francisco's burgeoning psychedelic music scene in the mid–1960s.

Slick, with a few exceptions, wasn't even at her best with Jefferson Airplane. Go listen to "Let It Go" or "El Diablo. " Listen to her with Linda Perry (another woman who should be on this list) on "Knock Me Out. " Many of the other "singers" on this list are so far from in the same league that it's laughable.

Where is Grace on this list? If it weren't for her guts paving the way for female singers, all these low talented "singers" wouldn't be anywhere in music. A true disGRACE not to see Ms. Slick here but then again, her voice was light years away from the majority of this list.

It is shameful that Grace isn't at top ten. Her voice is far better than some of the top ten. Listen to her voice at "Won't you try/Saturday Afternoon" how long she could sing and sing while Balin sings the rest. And not to forgot her two best songs "Somebody to Love" and "White Rabbit". Her voice is far more amazing than anybody above her (except Janis)

Grace Slick is the first woman of Rock.Grace Slick should be in the top 5 of the best female singers. If You haven't heard her, listen to her! She has a 100mph vibrato and there are few that can compete with her...

94 Reba McEntire Reba McEntire Reba Nell McEntire is an American country music singer, songwriter, record producer, actress and television producer.

Reba's forgotten more about singing than more than 1/2 on this list will EVER know!

OK. Really 135 she is a country icon, Taylor Swift wouldn't know what the heck to do with country music if it was not for true artist like Reba. She is truly a legend and she should get the praise she deserves.

I love Reba more than everybody on this list. She is country music. such a talented woman

I'd say definitely top 10 this list is lame...

Amazingly catchy voice

97 Ann Wilson Ann Wilson Ann Dustin Wilson is an American musician, best known as the lead singer and songwriter of the hard rock band Heart.

Here is what you young people need to do before you vote. Go to youtube, put in (HEART Crazy on You 1970's) and see what a real rock singer looks like. Annie never had to use her T&A to sell records because she wrote great songs. Barracuda, Magic Man, and Crazy On You, just to name a few. Key word being (wrote). Ann Wilson is a lady unlike some of the girls on this list.Ann is the voice of rock music and has masterd 7 different insturments. She also has a 4 octive range. And for all you woman out there, Don't forget people, Ann is the first woman to be the leader of a super group, HEART. And in the 70's no one was as cute as Dreamboat Annie. Nada a one.

Please stop with the Lady Gaga and Christina Aguilera stuff! Most of the new generation don't know good music from bad. Ann Wilson proves how horrible most of today's artists really are. Almost all female singers use Autotune and don't actually have to sing the right notes. It's an embarrassment to music. Put a REAL singer on top!

Nobody can sing like Ann Wilson. what a voice, your mind will be blown away. her voice is totally unique, so powerful, passionate and sexy. she should easily be number 1. she would blow everyone else on this list of the stage, none of them could live with her. Ann could cover any song by any other singer on this list and make it her own, BUT NO ONE CAN SING HER SONGS and come even close to matching them. Watched Celine Dion on You tube singing "ALONE", it was OK but it didn't give me any goose bumps. I get shivers and goose bumps all over every time when Dreamboat Annie belts it out. In a nutshell ANN WILSON IS ASTOUNDING, MAGNIFICENT, INCREDIBLE. And she sounds just as good now, if not better, as she did 40 years ago. Check out HEART "WITHOUT YOU" Live 1978 on You tube, it trounces Mariah Carey's version. No singer on the planet past or present could ever dream of covering "STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN" and do it justice. Ann has even taken the most iconic Rock song ever AND MADE IT HER OWN ...more

La voz femenina mas sexual del rock))))

99 Sarah Vaughan

The Divine One should be right up the top. She is definitely the greatest singer in the world.

I was not in the generation that first enjoyed her wonderful voice but I have to agree. She had a superb tone to her voice and truly was. Devine.

Sarah Vaughan for technical perfection, Janis Joplin for pure emotion.

But how many of the internet generation have even heard of these divas?

the first

100 Regina Spektor Regina Spektor Regina Spektor is a Russian-born, American recording Artist. Born on the 18th of February she is 37 years in age. Best known for her meaningful, and joyful music, her best songs include, 'Samson' (2002), 'Eet' (2009) and 'The Call' (which was apart of the 2008 film 'The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince more.

She's truly fantastic, can't believe she's not higher. But it seems like most people voting here is 13-year-olds without any taste or knowledge in music.

Regina has an incredible voice, really unique sound and an absoulute gift for song writing. Her lyrics are as amazing as her melodies. She takes very unorthodox approaches to vocal technique and somehow makes them work. It's a shame she hasn't been rated higher.

Beautiful, weird, unique artist. Her new stuff isn't as good, but there's some real passion and very unique lyrics and songs - nearly all of her older, original songs in fact. I love all the things she does with her voice.

She's a really great artist and singer. She should be so much higher. - 10Jackson
