He never really needed a backstory, but his fictional character biography gave him the most Harry-Potter-esque or Batman-esque backstory you could give an arcade mascot. And we're supposed to accept he's sort of a jerk in his original dialogues with his friends.
Though many obstacles of his childhood are justified as typical of people with autism, many would be a worst case scenario in real life. For one, being a prodigy doesn't mean you're going to be right about every single medical patient. Also, the part of his childhood where he runs away with his brother to a train station and watches him die is a little extreme. Imagine that being put in your Wikipedia biography.

For accidentally breaking a vase! That's what!

Some rando who is unrelated to Shimi, Anakin, Luke, or Leia yet is one with The Force and a "worthy successor". The reveal in the last film pushed her even further into Mary Sue territory.

She was made as if the author originally made her for a beauty pageant fan fiction. Her backstory is the dominant contrast of the whole story and she is idealistically described for beauty satisfaction.
She doesn't have a lot to say morally, but she puts every other character through a lot over the course of the series, which is presented in the guise of humor and therefore brushed off.
