Top Ten Film Adaptations that are Better Than the Book

The Top Ten

1 The Godfather
2 The Silence of the Lambs
3 A Clockwork Orange
4 One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
5 Jaws
6 Stand By Me
7 Brokeback Mountain
8 Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
9 No Country for Old Men
10 Children of Men

The Contenders

11 Forrest Gump
12 The Shining
13 Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
14 Twilight
15 Maze Runner: The Death Cure

This one is easily the best of the Maze Runner trilogy because it learns from past mistakes they made in the previous two. Compared to the book, it is easily better. It changes a lot of aspects from the book but that's what made the movie so unpredictable.

16 The Shawshank Redemption

A few notes
-A clockwork orange, one flew over the cuckoos nest, and the shining. All great books made into great movies (regardless of how faithful they are) but are in no way "superior" the the novels.
-No country for old men is so faithful you can't possibly compare them.
-The Godfather took a decent-good book and made what what consider to be the greatest movie of all time.
-Stand by me and shawshank redemption added more to the novellas and to great effect.
-Forest Gump I can probably get behind
-Whoever put Charlie and the chocolate factory put the remake rather than the original and the original is probably better than the book. - PewPewAssassin
