Film Directors People Claim to Like In Order to Look Cool

The Top Ten

1 Quentin Tarantino Quentin Tarantino Quentin Jerome Tarantino is an American filmmaker and actor. His films are characterized by non-linear storylines, satirical subject matter, an aestheticization of violence, utilization of ensemble casts consisting of established and lesser-known performers, references to popular culture, soundtracks more.

The only reason people like his movies as much as they do is probably to look cool and trendy. This is due to how trendy it has become to like postmodern twists on old exploitation movies, regardless of their actual quality, and Tarantino is a major player in such circumstances. I'm certain that people wouldn't warm as much to Kill Bill, Death Proof, Inglorious Basterds, Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight if he wasn't the 'auteur' behind the camera. - Mrveteran

Where's Kubrick? Ah, okay.. Tarantino it is.

2 Christopher Nolan Christopher Nolan

Everyone in my class is like "Nolan! Nolan! Legend! "
Whenever I ask somebody "Have ya seen Goodfellas? 2001? Shawshank? Paths Of Glory? Braveheart? For chrissake, at least The Godfather? "
They're like "Have you seen Interstellar? Inception? TDK? Huh? "
Come on, many are just claiming to be Nolan fans to be 'cool'.
I'm the only guy in my class who knows Kubrick, Sergio Leone, The Coen Bros, etc.
As Tommy DeVito said, " What the f*** is the world coming to? "
