Top 10 First Video Games from Great Franchises that Didn't Age Well
Inspired by one of Watchmojo's videos, this lists looks into the first game of great video game franchises that despite being great games have aged poorly over the years this list will also include spin off video game series as well.Hugely popular back in the 90's during Pokemon fever the first set of Pokemon games released on the game boy but as time when on each generation got better and better while the original games were aged horribly with really slow speed, and horrendous sprites.
The games moves so slowly that it takes forever to get from one town to the next and the battles are incredibly long.
Hardly anyone remembers that here was a Street Fighter 1 game.
Like all first games Resident Evil 1 for the original PlayStation was groundbreaking as it introduced the survival horror genre and of course over the course of time the graphics just look awful especially compared to the 2002 GameCube remake and lets not forget the awfully hilarious voice acting.
Two words jill sandwich
To be honest the first Mario Kart game was not as great as people remember it as a matter of fact the game can be really difficult especially in the harder classes and the controls are a bit messy its easy to fall off and you'll constantly find yourself bouncing all over the place.
The first Mario Party game was hit or miss while many of the mini games were fun unfortunately Nintendo made the mistake of including the rotating control stick mini games that caused blisters on players hands that Nintendo had to issue gloves to players, eventually they did learn there lesson and with the later sequels used the analog stick more sparingly.
Although I have fond memories of this game, even I have to admit that it's aged badly. We all know of the rotating control stick games but the games in general were pretty damn difficult, it's not surprising that Nintendo remade a number of games for Mario Party 2. Nintendo, if you're reading this, please remake this game for the 3DS/Switch.
Mortal Kombat 1 was a milestone in the video game fighting game genre that introduced fatalities that allowed you to kill off your opponents in bizarre and violent ways. looking back years later the game hasn't aged very well with only seven playable characters and the use of digitized actors though innovative for the time just looks ridicules by today standards.
The original Crash game was a great way to show off the power of the PlayStation system and made Crash the unofficial mascot for the PlayStation fast forward 2 sequels later and Crash 1 ends up feeling inferior with a lack of saving and having to play through each stage without dying once and breaking all crates just to get the gems, thankfully the remastered version fixed a lot of the issues with the game.
Super Smash Bros is on here 3 times.
Bah Humbug, I think its fine.
