NFL Teams Most Likely to Land Joe Thuney in the 2021 Offseason
There have been many past Patriot offensive lineman go, and we should expect nothing less with Belichick who hardly likes to re-sign blockers for whatever reason. Maybe he surprises us and actually keeps two important pieces on the offense. You lose your best guard, and center you are in sheer trouble to really impress big in the draft. As for Joe Thuney here's 10 places he can thrive into from day 1.Bengals were struggling consistently to be good in the running game. Joe Mixon got hurt, Giovani Bernard fizzled. This fit makes sense to at least have a quality guard in place that you have the need and cap that fits best.
Philly needs to shuffle around this line fast. They longtime veterans appear to be done. Peters looked finished, Brooks was out for the year. Pair him with Thuney and Miles Sanders can salvage a big year if the two are healthy.
Washington needs to think protection before making a splash similar to other teams obviously. Scherff will be the big focus, but than you may have just enough money to go grab Thuney potentially. Antonio Gibson made a case and showed up to his hype as the unknown. This pair could really help out significantly.
Can't rule out the current team in position of a desperate off-season they must construct. Having veteran presence in this line will be very important. I'm not sure if Belichick would wanna lose another lineman like he has done historically. It becomes very crucial now with a new QB they must find too.
49ers have been able to run the ball with a least a good Guard in place. They have had problem on the other side the past few season. Thuney would fit right in for John Lynch.
Another team not too likely, but a reunion with Brady isn't too far off. While that offensive line did a great job as the season went on. Tampa Bay looks like they will reload getting back most of their players. Would they have just enough to sign a key guy in place?
Lions' offensive line looks like it's on the rise with what they got going on. The only weakness would be the opposite to Jonah Jackson. Sure Logan Stenberg can fill in as a backup, but despite being a Patriot guy. This signing would make sense if you want to establish having a strong running game for Swift to improve in year 2.
There's a possibility of the Chargers investing most of their money on the offensive trench which is not a bad thing. They've clearly done that with Bryan Bulaga. No question they will work hard to find big pieces for Herbert to continue his impressive start to his NFL career. Not so sure they'll have much left in the cap if they do get a Center and a left tackle. Still it is the #1 priority for the Chargers above all else.
I'm amazed Atlanta was able to have a decent enough running game from a guy's knee whose shown to be toast at this rate in his career. There's no over looking the fact Falcons Guard tandem is just that bad. For a team, that has many 1st rounders they just don't translate apparently. Gotta help Lindstorm with a better upgrade to the left side.
Vikings have a bad run blocking guard tandem up front. I'm amazed they were able to run the ball as well as they did considering the fact. The center can't do it all. The combo of Dozier, and Samia looks like a hot disaster. Would they have a decent offer to go get Thuney possibly?
