Top Ten Franchises With Disappearing Fanbases

Franchises that once had huge fanbases had slowly disappear.
The Top Ten
1 High School Musical

The series was cheesy with it always saying believe in yourself and goofy love songs... And it was a big hit until after the last movie, things went kinda quiet.

Till they decided to make a fourth with a television series which will probably only have one season.

2 Disney The Walt Disney Company, commonly known as Disney, is an American diversified multinational mass media and entertainment conglomerate headquartered at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California.

Disney is a greedy swine that tries to buy out every company it sees to add it to it's list of assets, and I never get why it is so popular when not all of their movies or shows are considered good, most notably The Lion King is one of their worst franchises they ever created. That franchise and it's movies, shows, and characters suck and I don't get why TLK has so many fans when it shouldn't. At least TLK is not the highest grossing animated movie in the box office anymore when it got beat by some CGI feature, so hopefully it will be losing fans once a new hit is made.

Mario was more recognizable than Mickey in the nineties when he was barely 10 years old! Now he is 30 and block busters such as New Super Mario Brothers DS, Mario Kart Wii, Mario Kart DS, and New Super Mario Bros. Wii all sold around 30 million copies. Not to mention games like Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 (which are considered the greatest games of all time.

And then there was Frozen.

Disney is fading.

Back in the day, Disney was huge. It was better than both Nick and Cartoon Network. But then new shows came and... People wasn't happy. They try and bring Mickey Mouse back to fix things but not even Mickey can save Disney's Dark Ages.

For a while, they had lost their fanbase (not counting Pixar). However, recently with Tangled, Frozen, and Zootopia they have gained a new fanbase.

3 Digimon “Digimon” is a term commonly used to describe a variety of Japanese anime series based on the Bandai virtual pet brand “Digimon” (Dejimon). As of 2017, there are 7 series: “Digimon Adventure” (1999), “Digimon 02” (a.k.a. “Digimon Adventure 02”) (2000), “Digimon Tamers” (2001), “Digimon Frontier” (2002), “Digimon Data Squad” (a.k.a. “Digimon Savers”) (2006), “Digimon Fusion” (a.k.a. “Digimon Xros Wars”) (2010) and “Digimon Adventure Tri” (2015). ...read more.

Really? , the fanbase seems pretty alive to me. Despite the silence of the franchise.

First was a decent franchise but now is quite boring

4 Batman Beyond

It was known as one of the best Batman cartoons in DC history until after the third season, Batman Beyond was cancelled.

I really like this show, but I don't notice many others who feel the same.

5 BeyBlade

Used to be good until the newer Beyblade cartoons came. Beyblade Metal Fusion was the only good cartoon.

I thought Masters was good but not Fusion and Fury.

Old and New one are stills good to me though

6 Crash Bandicoot

Sony could have brought him back but they said no. So blame Sony.

I still like Crash

7 Earthworm Jim

The series was huge back in the day until one game killed the series. And that was Earthworm Jim 3D. They try and bring him back with ports of his first two game but they ended up as a disaster.

8 Mega Man Battle Network

I never played that game but is a Game Boy game that why he has not to much fans

This series needs more love.

9 Bakugan

Bakugan was really one of the best Pokemon inspired franchise. So what happended? Bakugan just... Disappeared.

It was so nostalgic! I didn't know it was unpopular ever since.

To begin with, this never was popular.

To begin with, Bakugan wasn't popular.

10 Spongebob Squarepants

He was good until season 5. Season 4 was not bad so there is that.

This show is good all seasons, now stop being a crybaby

But still people love him

The Contenders
11 Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle

Every girl on YouTube and LiveJournal was obsessed over this back in the Mid-to-Late-2000's.

12 Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Mobile Suit Gundam SEED is a Japanese mecha anime television series that premiered in 2002. Part of the larger Gundam franchise, the show focuses on a future where Earth and space colonies are in conflict, exploring themes of war and human evolution. It has been praised for its intricate plot, complex characters, and thought-provoking themes. Mobile Suit Gundam SEED enjoys a large fan following and has spawned multiple sequels and spin-offs.

Same as Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle

13 Harry Potter

Potter Still Has A lot Of Fans Out There

Clearly, you haven't met me.

What the hell is this bull

14 Mobile Suit Gundam Wing Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, also known in Japan as New Mobile Report Gundam Wing, is a 1995 Japanese mecha anime series directed by Masashi Ikeda and written by Katsuyuki Sumizawa.
15 Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii

I enjoyed the game and had it since 2008, but ever since the new Super Smash Bros. for 3DS/Wii U came out in 2014, Brawl stared to get hated by it's (former) fanbase once it's fanbase moved on to the newer games. I may like SSB for Wii U/3DS but I also like it's predecessors, including SSBB. *cough* haters are going to hate me *cough*

16 Full Moon o Sagashite
17 The Blues Brothers
18 Total Drama Total Drama is a Canadian animated comedy television series which is a homage and parody to the conventions commonly found in reality television.
19 Sonic

Surprised this wasn't on the list already. Sonic may still have fans left, but it also has been gaining a lot of hate lately just because of the newer games. Since then, "Sonic" has been nothing but a controversial mess where fans start flaming and ranting over towards each other, and that's all what most people think of whenever "Sonic" is mentioned. I rather stay out of that mess and just play and like the games for what they are and not have to worry about what the fans/haters say about it.

It's disappearing because we're running out of Sonic games that are good, and if the horrible Sonic games keep going, the only thing for Sega to do is end Sonic's reputation once and for all. If the Sonic the Hedgehog series end, the Sonic fan base will be gone.

They'll always have at least one fan. I'm buying Fire and Ice no matter what.

The only good games were the first 3,generations ans colors.now they have bad games and this is coming from a mario fan who knows the truth

20 Homestuck
21 Cartoon Network Cartoon Network is an American basic cable and satellite television channel that is owned by the Turner Broadcasting System division of Time Warner.

Cartoon network sucks because of mis-adventure time, expecially its miniseries mi-stakes

22 Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha
23 My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic is an animated children's television series based on the fourth incarnation of Hasbro's My Little Pony franchise. The show follows a studious unicorn (later an alicorn) pony named Twilight Sparkle (Tara Strong) and her friends Applejack (Ashleigh Ball), Rarity (Tabitha ...read more.
24 Star Fox

Yes, I'm a real big Star Fox fan and it is sad that the franchise's fans are starting to disappear and I wish the series was more popular. I was really hoping that Star Fox Zero would become a hit like 64 was, but nope, fans and critics hate it like it's the new Sonic 2006 or something which is so wrong, since Star Fox Zero was STILL a good game and nothing like what you consider to be "the worst games of all time". Yes, Zero did have motion controls worth getting used to, but so did The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, yet Skyward Sword was still loved, so why can you praise Star Fox Zero the same way?

At least Star Fox 64 is still considered to be one of the greatest Nintendo 64 games of all time.

25 Tokyo Mew Mew Originating in Japan, Tokyo Mew Mew is an anime series that aired in 2002, adapted from a manga by Reiko Yoshida and Mia Ikumi. The story revolves around five girls who gain superpowers to become the "Mew Mews," defenders of Earth against alien invaders. Recognized for its magical girl elements, the show combines romance, action, and environmental themes.
