Top 10 Fruits Many People Think are Vegetables

A fruit is the section of the plant that develops from a flower. It's also the part of the plant that contains the seeds.

The other parts of the plants are vegetables - stems, leaves, roots and the flower bud.
Vegetables include celery (stem), lettuce (leaves), cauliflower and broccoli (buds), beets, carrots and potatoes (roots).

Believe it or not, these are technically fruits:
The Top Ten
1 Tomato

This is so true. It's just so confusing! I also wouldn't blame others for thinking this though. Lots of people think tomatoes are fruits because they have seeds, but they aren't!

How is this not #1 almost everybody calls it a vegetable when it's actually a fruit.

Probably most controversial when it comes to the fruit or veggie argument.

I always saw Tomatos as Fruits but yet whenever I say a Tomato is a Fruit people give me weird looks

2 Peapods

What confuses me the most is that a salad made of ingredients from this list would be technically... a fruit salad.

3 Beans

Is there anyone who ever thought this was a fruit? It isn't sweet or juicy, and is often cooked with meat...

4 Pepper

I'm sorry, but this argument is asinine. A vegetable is any herbaceous plant whose fruit, flowers, leaves, stems, roots, tubers, bulbs, et cetera, are used as food. All fruits are therefore vegetables.

Aubergine (British English) is Eggplant (American English)

Eggplant (American English) is already on the list as Aubergine (British English)
