1 Hetalia: Axis Powers Hetalia: Axis Powers is a Japanese webcomic turned anime by Hidekaz Himaruya that debuted in 2009. Hetalia has made me laugh until my sides hurt. ESPECIALLY the dub (It's one of the few anime where I can say that the dub is better than the sub). If you didn't know, the show is about anthropomorphic countries. Most of the countries are turned into hot men. The show focuses on what historical events would be like if they were people, with most of the show centering around WWII.
America in particular has made me laugh so hard that I've started crying. All of the other characters are also very funny. You should really give Hetalia a try if you're looking for a super funny anime!

2 Gintama Gin Tama, also styled as Gintama, is a Japanese manga written and illustrated by Hideaki Sorachi and serialized, beginning on December 8, 2003, in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump.

Gintama will hit you hard when you least expect. When you are laughing your ass off, it will throw some emotional stuff, when you're crying, it will throw comedy at perfect timing, and when you feel like it's just some light hearted filler episode, it will change into intense fight scene and awesome plot to throw you off balance, that's gintama for ya.

Takes some time to get going and getting used to, but once it hits it's funny as all hell.
A lot of the jokes will be lost in translation though since many of them are very Japan-centric, but for everyone of those there's a million other ones that will still leave you laughing out loud

3 Soul Eater Soul Eater is an anime series directed by Takuya Igarashi and produced by Bones, Aniplex, Dentsu, Media Factory, and TV Tokyo, which adapts the Soul Eater manga written and illustrated by Atsushi Ohkubo.

I love it when Death the Kid loses his mind when there's asymmetry.

4 Nichijou Airing in 2011, Nichijou is a Japanese anime based on a manga by Keiichi Arawi. Unlike typical plot-driven shows, it focuses on the surreal and comedic daily lives of three high school girls. It gained praise for its inventive animation techniques and absurdist humor.

This is a perfect example of making the most of an abusive animation budget. They make jokes like most slice of life comedies, but when the joke normally would stop, they just keep going until it reaches the point of absolute, physics-breaking insanity. This series is what made me think to myself, "that's it. I need to watch more slice of life anime." I still have yet to find one that tops Nichijou, though, & I know for sure that I will never get bored with this anime no matter how many times I re-watch it. Why couldn't MY ordinary life be like this?

5 Ouran High School Host Club Ouran High School Host Club is a manga series by Bisco Hatori, serialized in Hakusensha's LaLa magazine between the September 2002 and November 2010 issues. You just have to look at all their, how should I put this, 'bright' personalities. Kyoya senpai is just so mean, Honey senpai is adorable, Mori Senpai is the tough cool guy but Honey breaks that, the twins are so preverted and Creepy, Tamaki is just something of his own design, and Haruhi is the most Oblivious you could ever meet. I swear to blah bflahf sa anime gahd, that this could possibly the first anime that has literally made me laugh so hard until it hurt.

6 Fairy Tail Fairy Tail is a manga franchise created by Hiro Mashima. I love fairy tail like crazy and I think it's super funny, it's my second favorite anime and I'm glad I watched it because the characters are so different and put together, the anime is amazing.

For me Fairy tail is pretty goofy and is probably 1 of the few things that make me like this show, even though I'm not a fan I still find is entertaining because of the humour.

It's really funny as well as action packed, every character has a special and widely distinguishable sense of humor.

7 Angel Beats! Angel Beats! is a 13-episode Japanese anime television series produced by P.A.Works and Aniplex and directed by Seiji Kishi.

It is very funny, but really sad at the same time. My favourite anime!

I chose Angel beats (I also love Ouran high school host club but this was so down on the list) because the Rocket chairs made me laugh uncontrollably! Although this is a sad anime (like You're Lie In April), it makes people feel joy when they help each other and they try to accomplish their dreams (which most of them do). =^~^=

8 Baka and Test

Oh my god, It's so funny! It shouldn't be 19, it should be 1!
The characters are well developed, it has amazing art, each of the characters are funny in their own way, and it doesn't have too much fanservice! (There is a little though). Overall, this should surpass at the very least Fairy Tail.

Hands down one of the funniest animes ever made. Every character is hilarious and the episodes get funnier and funnier every second. It never gets old, and it definitely deserves to be placed among the ranks of School Rumble and The Melancholy or Haruhi Suzumiya

9 Katekyo Hitman Reborn! Reborn!, known in Japan as Katekyō Hitman Reborn! 100 Sit ups, 100 squats, 100 push ups, eat 3 meals a day, a banana for breakfast is fine. Don't use the ac in the summer and don't use the heater in the winter to strengthen the mind...

Before even punching, you already expect what would happen that you cannot stop laughing just before and after the punch.

Godly. The whole freaking anime is just so funny

The Contenders
11 School Rumble

Around episode 5 it picks up and you can't stop watching after that, it's flat out HILARIOUS. I don't think there is a character you can dislike. Perverted moments but funny after moments. Nothing is dull about this anime.

One of the funniest animes ever. PERIOD. The characters are hysterical and the situations Tenma and Harima get themselves into never stop being funny. And when its not being funny, it's a great story and proves very touching at times. Definitely worth watching

Funniest anime I've ever seen. And I've seen plenty.

15 KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World! KonoSuba: God's Blessing on This Wonderful World!, often referred to simply as KonoSuba, is a Japanese light novel series written by Natsume Akatsuki. I saw some people watching the first episode of this anime when I was in my English class for tutoring. It's kind of like Sword Art Online (don't get me wrong, I still love it, but I just thought about how it's similar to KonoSuba.), but with tons of comedy. The characters are really hilarious and I really like Kazuma and Aqua. I SO have to watch this anime!

Probably one of the funnies animes I have watched, as literally every episode made me laugh.

The incompetence in the main characters makes up for some solid comedic moments.

16 One Piece One Piece is a manga franchise created by Eiichiro Oda. The manga has been adapted into an original video animation (OVA) produced by Production I.G in 1998, and an anime series produced by Toei Animation, which began broadcasting in Japan in 1999 and has aired 851 episodes to date.

Luffy is probably the funniest out of all of them. I like his high energy.

The funniest anime of all time. luffy zoro sanji chopper and brook make it funny

The funniest anime mostly the zoro's bad sense of direction..yohohohohohohoho

17 Kokoro Connect

I am absolutely disgusted that this isn't in the top 3. It's not onlu the funniest anime ever, it's one of the funniest pieces of animation ever.

The most air-headed anime. Cannot forget this I want season 2 where they somehow ended up in the same college jk there is no story like that.

22 Nisekoi Debuting in 2014, this anime series is based on a manga by Naoshi Komi. The plot centers around two high school students who pretend to be in a romantic relationship to maintain peace between their feuding families. Noted for its romantic comedy elements, the show enjoys a large fan base.

Bro, this so hilarious! I enjoy the great voice acting, the bight colors, and the characters! The charters are the best part about the anime! Warning! shippers ahead!

23 Sket Dance

For me, Sket Dance shows us really funny moments. I mean in each episode, who wouldn't laugh. I like that this anime doesn't only focus on comedy, but has a serious side. *cough* (The episodes of Bossun, Himeko, and Switch) I would really recommend this to you if your looking for comedy.

Life of try hard club with their sad backstories that make their present stories so funny.
