141 Groucho Marx Groucho Marx Julius Henry Marx (October 2, 1890 – August 19, 1977), known professionally as Groucho Marx, was an American comedian, film and television star. He was known as a master of quick wit and is widely considered one of the best comedians of the modern era. His rapid-fire, often impromptu delivery of innuendo-laden more.

Groucho Marx with and without his brothers was the fastest ad lib artist of all time, and so famous as a comedian that the networks would allow him to walk onto any show in production at any time during the age of live T.V.. Every name on this list will admit that he is to American Comedy second only to Mark Twain and a primary influence for their careers and personal lives. If he isn't number 1, the list is faulty.

No way he should be down here. Mass amnesia rules these "top 10" or "top 100" things!

Everyone wants to be Groucho at last one time in life.

Groucho was pretty damned funny for a Jew

This "observational comedian" is wonderful, humoristic and sarcastic. He's in league with the big guy if only people would see it!

"Do you know who I like? No, you don't. So I'm gonna tell you. Because if you did know who I like, that would have been weird " it means you're in my head. "

"Sometimes you should say the right thing. But the wrong thing is funnier... "

"As my mother always says, If you have to swear to get laughs, then you're obviously a ct. "

This man is one of the best I have ever seen.Just watch "Pedantic and Whimsical".You will know what I mean!

152 Louie Anderson

I went through this whole list... Isn't Louie on here?! I know he was HUGE in his home state, Minnesota, then moved out to Las Vegas and is a fixture there. But he was on the Tonight Show enough times and hosted Family Feud for awhile and should be well known enough. HILARIOUS standup comic.

My feeling is Louie Anderson, is the most funny comic, that ever lived. I love louie and want to always be on his side. He's the best now and forever.
Much love to lou, and many prayers.

Oh, there you are, Louie! I just added you to the end of this list because I missed this listing. Not enough people see Louie to know how great he is. Like many, he got his gig in Vegas and is overlooked by the industry via media.

He needs to be at least in the top 10. This man is extremely talented and has balls to say some of the truths he days about race and other aspects in our society. 159 Bob Newhart

The list has just lost ALL credibility. A list of comedians that doesn't list Bob is, horribly ironic, laughable.

Oh Bob. He can deliver a line. Still hear his skits on satellite radio 98
