MSZM is incredibly underrated. With help from Nintendo, this could actually be the best full-fledged Metroidvania game of all time, believe it or not. The platforming is amazing, the level design is absolute genius, and if its many inherent flaws were ironed over then it would become a virtually flawless masterpiece of a game.

Basically a HALF-remake to Metroid 1

Expanding the mansion, updating the visuals, adding a few new but even creepier enemies, linking the game to the sequels a bit more, changing the dialogue, getting better voice actors, I could go on forever about this game and everything it did better than the original game.
