Top Ten Coolest Suikoden Characters

Suikoden, for those that don't know, is an RPG series that has a major emphasis on characters. There are a ton of them, with a total 108 possible recruits for the heroes side. The coolest characters ever, the ones that just scream, this one is really awesome, are on this list.
The Top Ten
1 Luca Blight (Suikoden II)

Oh come on, you know how it is with RPG villains. But Luca, he's an absolute monster. He pretty much sets the events in Suikoden II in full motion, burning down villages, making people beg for mercy, mocking them and THEN killing them. He was responsible for killing his entire youth brigade, in which Riou and Jowy were a part of. The developers managed to create a villain in which people love to hate, one who will be remembered. When it comes down to finally taking him down though, he takes a LOT of work. The night raid on Luca Blight involves several arrows shot at him, three full parties to take him down, and EVEN MORE ARROWS. And yet, he still somehow has strength enough to challenge Riou is one last duel. This guy may have been fully human, but his strength is inhumane.

True Evil. True Genius.

2 Georg Prime (Suikoden II and V)

Now I haven't played Suikoden V yet, but I have played II, and he's in that one as well. But he was a lot cooler in V, being a badass traveling swordsman and wearing an eyepatch not because he lost an eye, but he almost lost one. He wore it to remind him not to make the same mistake again. He was a general under the Scarlet Moon Empire, going under the awesome nickname "Deathblow Georg" but he left soonafter. As a character in battle, Georg is a pure physical fighter, but he's so good it's hard to beat him.

3 Geddoe (Suikoden III)

He wields the True Lightning Rune in Suikoden 3, and was a fighter of years past in the first Fire Bringer War, where he fought alongside Wyatt Lightfellow and the Flame Champion. During the events of Suikoden III, he is one of the main characters, leading the Harmonian South Frontier Defense Force, and he's still more or less the coolest of the three main heroes. His power can almost be unparalleled in combat.

4 Yuber (Suikoden I, II, and III)

Being in three Suikoden games, this guy is a true villain out just for chaos. His powers are as inhumane as Luca's, and he holds a true rune, the Eight-Devil rune. Interestingly enough, he hates true runes though. One other thing about Yuber is that he deserts once the going is tough, but you can't deny how cool he is, in all the games he's been in.

5 Luc (Suikoden I, II, and III)

Going from a minor protagonist in the first two games to the central antagonist in the third, Luc has good intentions for what he does, but it's clearly not seen by the main heroes at all. He wants to destroy the true runes, in order to fight destiny of a lifeless world. It ends up in his defeat though.

6 Tir McDohl (Suikoden I and II)

Although the silent protagonist of the first game, he manages to fight with a bo stick effectively. He of course has the burdens to bear, upon the rune that is the Rune of Life and Death, also known as the Soul Eater. He lead the Toran Liberation army against the Scarlet Moon Empire, fighting off some of the greatest generals, including his own father.

Best main hero in the series by miles

7 Hugo (Suikoden III)

The son of Karaya Chief Lucia, Hugo is quick to leap to action, but he does it well. He has witnessed the destruction of Karaya village and the death of Lulu, and although he fought for revenge, he ended up getting better, forgiving former foes and taking up the responsibility of the former Flame Champion against Luc.

8 Sasarai (Suikoden II and III)

In the times he has appeared, he was mostly minor, but his relationship with Luc is what makes him very memorable. As the wielder of the True Earth Rune, he easily clashes with Luc, the bearer of the True Wind Rune, but beforehand he fights on behalf of Harmonia against the Grasslands. After Luc backstabs him he ends up helping Harmonia and regaining his True Earth Rune back.

9 Chris Lightfellow (Suikoden III)

The leader of the Zexen Knights, she isn't about fame and fortune unlike other popular people in Zexen. In fact, it's a burden for her. She wields more burdens than that though, having a grudge against Hugo for what she and the Zexen Knights did to Karaya village, as well as knowing her father Wyatt was the bearer of the True Water Rune.

She is the lady knight, she is so cool..

10 Clive (Suikoden I and II)

Under the hood, Clive may be a mostly minor character, but it's not until Suikoden II that this minor character's quest becomes clear. He hunted down the rogue gunner Elza, responsible for killing a friend, and it was a very interesting sidequest to see through. It ends rather tragically, although Clive does live on. He's one of the very few Suikoden characters to wield guns in the series.

The Contenders
11 Eileen (Suikoden I)

Eileen is a badass mom.

12 Futch (& Bright) (Suikoden I, II and III)

First of all, Futch is one of the very few Suikoden Characters to appear in three Suikoden games. Not only that, but he is also the only character that you can control outside of the hero, even if it's for a very brief period (in Suikoden 1, at Barbarossa's garden).

Futch has a cool design, a badass personality, and he is a DRAGON Knight. As if it wasn't enough, in Suikoden 3 he has the potential to be one of the most powerful characters in the entire game thanks to the mounted pair with Bright, giving him a unique combination of pure power, rune boost and items.
The sword he took from Humphrey and wields in Suikoden III also is an addition to his overall appeal.
