Top Ten Genres that Certain Music Artists Should Never Try to Do

These artists, good or bad music, should never try these genres, it won't suit them and they will give the genre a bad name or ruin their careers. Their voices or musical styles won't fit the genre in any way, no matter if they are good or not. Even though there are artists that are good at more than one genre, there is always a limit as well. We all have a type of music that suits us and doesn't suit us.

The Top Ten

1 Opera - Nicki Minaj

She's come close to that level of soul a few times. She's a hit-or-miss rapper, but damn if she isn't a great singer. - WonkeyDude98

Eh. That depends. She sings atrociously on songs like "Starships", "Side to Side", and "Swish Swish", but she's pretty decent on "Grand Piano" and "Save Me". - DCfnaf

I'm not sure because she has a really good singing voice. I think she could do this. - lovefrombadlands

She is an okay singer, but I definitely do not think she can do opera. - AnimeDrawer

Grand Piano and Save Me should be better if Nicki does opera. - StevenUniverseIsAwesome

2 Death Metal - Taylor Swift

Honestly these would all be pretty interesting. - IronSabbathPriest

Imagine her covering a Cannibal Corpse song. - MindCrime

Hey, that would be fun - Neonco31

Taylor Swift attempting Death Metal would actually be something we'd all sign up to watch :P. Does it well (regardless of that 0.5 - 2% chance) or not, she's definitely destroying her fanbase :P. - CrimsonShark

3 Alternative Rock - Dahvie Vanity

Well, maybe Dahvie should sing songs that are not about sex and violence. I might sure he might idolize Tom DeLonge. - StevenUniverseIsAwesome

Dahvie is a pedophile and a rapist who touches his fangirl's boobs and rapes girls. - PeeledBanana

4 Bubblegum Pop - Cannibal Corpse

Imagine Cannibal Corpse singing a children's version of Hammer Smashed Face with the same lyrics, but then in sing-a-long style, and with a pop beat and upbeat tempo.

The fanatics will lose their pizza when this happens, lol - Neonco31

I wonder what would happen... - wrests

Just google on the internet: Cannibal Corpse - Hammer Smashed Face (Radio Disney Version)
You know what I mean. - Kiyomi

5 Country - Justin Bieber
6 Hard Rock - Borgore
7 Rap - Green Day

They semi-tried this with Nightlife.

Good god, kill me. - WonkeyDude98

8 Country Rap - AC/DC

What? That would sound absolutely terrible. - Lucretia

9 Deathcore - Iron Maiden

I'm a big fan of Iron Maiden, because I LOVE how melodic it is.
So I won't be happy when this happens, because Deathcore music is not melodic. - Kiyomi

10 Black Metal - Metallica

No. Don't you ever sign a deal with the devil. NO! - Neonco31

It's funny considering how they dressed up as Mayhem in the video to ManUNkind. - Aragorn98

Should Have Put Raeggeton - waldo

The Newcomers

? Djent - Eminem

The Contenders

11 Children's Music - Suicide Silence

Now I Know Where Annabelle comes from - waldo

Well this band is already trash - Lucretia

12 Reggaeton - Blink-182

Oh I can easily see this. - ProPanda

I disagree with the lyrics because Blink has more meaning to their lyrics than any Reggaeton artist. I agree with the drumbeats though, I did notice that. Not sure about the vocal styles, - AnimeDrawer

Nooo! I cannot imagine Blink-182 singing to this horrendous genre in Spanish and Tom knows how to speak Spanish, but I am glad this will never happen. - AnimeDrawer

13 Death Metal - Katy Perry

Well, on the contrary, Alissa White-Gluz could "Roar".

I would like to see Katy Perry sing that with a death growl though... - CrimsonShark

14 Electro-Pop - Iron Maiden

No. Steve is a a king of bass, and Bruce can not sing anything less then metal. - Lucretia

HA, imagine 2 Minutes To Midnight with a pop beat. - MindCrime

It Would Be Sad - waldo

I love Electro Pop, and the lead singer of Iron Maiden sounds good, whether I like rock or not. I couldn’t ever see them doing this, but I would like it. - lovefrombadlands

15 Heavy Metal - Jacob Sartorius

I want to see this! - EliHbk

He would mess his voice up. - Lucretia

This would be awful. - MindCrime

16 Hip Hop - Sam Hunt

What do you mean? He already is! - PandaDude98

17 Crunkcore - Angels And Airwaves
18 Power Metal - Jacob Sartorius

If he can't make a rap song without a ton of editing and autotune that sounds decent you can't do power metal - Lucretia

He shouldn’t have tried any musical genre to begin with. - MindCrime

I imagine 'Nightfall' by Blind Guardian with autotuned vocals.
It sounds awful. - Kiyomi

19 Thrash Metal - Jacob Sartorius Thrash Metal - Jacob Sartorius Thrash Metal is a Heavy Metal subgenre developed during the early 1980s and an early precursor of Extreme Metal. Thrash Metal features a faster and more aggressive guitar work than Traditional Metal with shredding and double-bass drums and can range from melodic singing to loud shouts. more.

He would lose his voice and use autotine, like, 90 percent of the time - Lucretia

20 Bubblegum Pop - Belphegor

Belphegor is one of the few extreme metal bands that I like, and they have a good combination of shrieked and grunted vocals.
Bubblegum Pop? Give me a no. - Kiyomi

21 Grindcore - Bhad Bhabie

Shes bad enough anyways, if she tried to cover a Alice In Chains song it would sound like your ears are being drilled into... don't want to imagine this - Lucretia

Bhad Bhabie is awful. Her rapping is very annoying, and Grindcore requires a lot of screaming. It's an awful thing to think about. - Kiyomi

That would be really funny. - lovefrombadlands

22 Children's Music - Blind Guardian

One of my personal pet peeves with music is Children's Music.
Blind Guardian is a good band.
And Good band + Major Pet Peeve = Disaster.
Blind Guardian should NEVER do this. - Kiyomi

23 Blues - Blind Guardian Blues - Blind Guardian

Can a power metal band switch to blues? This would be the most interesting blues ever... - Lucretia

24 Pop - Cannibal Corpse

This wouldn't work but it would be hilarious to see this - christangrant

After all his death growling, Corpsegrinders voice must have lost its softness - Lucretia

25 Gospel - Mayhem

That's ironic.

Mayhem is anti christ they would never

Well, the first members would have never agreed to this. Euronymous wanted the band to be evil and not something everyones mother listens too. Dead was very depressed and suicidal and was being emotionally abused by Euronymous. And the other members... - Lucretia

26 Gospel - Eminem

Can I get a no? - Sop

27 Nu Metal - Slayer

Slayer tried to infuse some Nu Metal influences in Diabolus in Musica. Yep, Slayer did make a few songs that are debatably Nu Metal in that album. No wonder why that album is considered mediocre. At least they went back to their roots in God Hates Us All... - CrimsonShark

28 Pop - Slipknot

Corey Taylor could easily make a ballad or a soft song. If he wanted to, he would probably make a great Pop song. Just not with Slipknot though. - CrimsonShark

I actually want this to happen for some reason - wrests

With Stone Sour he might be able to, it might be a little strange though. - EliHbk

29 Children's Music - Rings Of Saturn
30 Bubblegum Pop - Behemoth

YES! I want to see Nergal trying to wow kids, metalheads and tweens with Bubblegum Pop. - CrimsonShark

31 Teen Pop - Judas Priest

Rob Halford has one of the best heavy metal voices ever, so I won't be happy if this happens, because one major characteristic of Teen Pop is auto-tuned vocal, and Auto-Tune ruins your voice. - Kiyomi

Teens will mock him for being gay... - Lucretia

32 Nu Metal - Iron Maiden

I don't dislike Nu Metal, but I'm sure this isn't going to work out.
I love Iron Maidens guitar solo's and I don't want to have them removed. - Kiyomi

33 Pop Rap - Metallica

Imagine James Hetfield rapping poppy lyrics on a poppy beat - Kiyomi

34 Nu Metal - Metallica

Them trying this wouldn't be that bad - Lucretia

35 Power Metal - Jake Paul

His voice is NOT suitable for singing.
And Power Metal is difficult to sing. - Kiyomi

36 Teen Pop - Mayhem

Euronymous would roll over in his grave if he saw this submission... he was a pagan satanist who wanted his band to be evil and used the death of someone he convinced to commit suicide and said it was because death metal was becoming mainstream. - Lucretia

37 Trance - Taylor Swift

To be honest I think this could actually somewhat work - wrests

38 Dubstep - Beyoncé
39 Electronic Dance Music - Dying Fetus

Their name will scare the fans - Lucretia

No explanation.

40 Teen Pop - Joanne Shaw Taylor
41 Teen Pop - Megadeth

Dave Mustaine trying to score the "tween" demographic would be a fixture for an upcoming meme :p. Then again, his voice isn't going to impress any :/. - CrimsonShark

43 Death Metal Metal - Jacob Sartorius

Death metal metal?

44 Black Metal - Jacob Sartorius
