Best German Music Artists for Learning German

Music is what helped me the most learning English. So why wouldn't that apply to other languages as well?
When you learn a language, it is better when the artists use lyrics that are straight forward, contain everyday language and are not too complicated.
This does not necessarily mean they are among the best artists, though.


I got the idea for this list because I know someone very close who only knows English and wants to learn German.

1 Silbermond Silbermond is a German alternative rock band consisting of Stefanie Kloß (vocals), Thomas Stolle (guitar), Johannes Stolle (bass), Andreas Nowak (drums) that formed in 2000.

After several smaller gigs, their 2004 debut album "Verschwende deine Zeit" became a surprise success in Germany . Silbermond are great if you are trying to learn the language.
They have really inspiring lyrics that everyone can relate to, but they don't use complicated sentence structures, slang terms or unusual words.
For teens and up, some lighter curse words here and there, and a little innuendo on very few tracks. Overall they are fairly clean though.
