Good Albums with the Worst CoversMartin_Canine You shouldn't judge a book by its cover: sometimes really good music albums are packed in covers that make you wonder if the designers were out of their minds.
The Top Ten
It is just so pseudo-goth like...
Everythings looks old and morbid, the band is covered in thick spiderwebs, there is a raven on the table, a thick layer of dust is on the whole scenery, there's a soft shade of a ghost (I think it's a women with white silk over her head).
It tries way too hard to be dark and spooky while the music itself is actually more mystical and symphonic than morbid.
Their first album had a picture of the lead singer in s blue dress in what looks like a cave, surrounded by ravens. This was a nice picture. Graceful, looking a bit mysterious, but not exaggarated.
This second album however... its artwork makes it embarassing for me to say that it's one of my favourite albums (if not THE favourite) of the year 2016. - Martin_Canine
This could've looked so cool if designed a bit better and with a bit more detailed use of CGI. It just looks cheap this way. Plus it doesn't at all fit the album's mood, which is still more emo-ish. A great album by a great band, but the cover looks like a missed opportunity at least, considering the artwork in the booklet looks pretty amazing and cyberpunk-ish.
It's not the worst cover though. But still not a good one. - Martin_Canine
The cover is boring but one detail is hilarious... they forgot to edit the sky out of the reflection in the windshield... - Martin_Canine
I know what's the idea behind this cover and it's great but the artwork always reminds me of something completely different - blueberry pie. - Metal_Treasure
