Top 10 Good but Greedy Companies

This is not a clone of most greedy companies. This list is about good companies that are greedy. A lot of these are game companies and there were a few items I considered, but decided not to include.
The Top Ten
1 Microsoft Microsoft Corporation is an American multinational technology company headquartered in Redmond, Washington, that develops, manufactures, licenses, supports and sells computer software, consumer electronics and personal computers and services.

As much as I love Windows 10, Xbox 360, Microsoft Edge, and Microsoft Word, they charge for Xbox Live. Although this allows Xbox Live to be of high quality, it shows that they love money. Additionally, they bought Rare and turned them into garbage.

I like the Xbox, but Microsoft forced me to leave it.

It was either that or EA at a deserving #1.

2 Disney The Walt Disney Company, commonly known as Disney, is an American diversified multinational mass media and entertainment conglomerate headquartered at the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California.

As much as I love movies like Big Hero 6 and The Lion King, the movie Frozen has a lot of merchandise surrounding it, including food with the characters' faces on the box. Disney Infinity is essentially Skylanders, but with Disney characters and a less flexible version of Minecraft's building gameplay. Fifteen bucks for a figurine required to play a game, yay.

They shut down amazing games such as Toontown and Club Penguin for a horrible mobile game that basically forces you to pay money.

Thanks to them, vast amounts of history from the past 100 years are slowly fading away due to the copyright laws they keep extending. Plus, they did to LucasArts what EA did to Westwood.

3 EA Electronic Arts, Inc., also known as EA Games, is an American developer, marketer, publisher and distributor of video games headquartered in Redwood City, California.

EA is a good game company due to quality games like The Sims, Battlefield, and Mass Effect, but they also have a history of excessive DLC. I've heard they've even charged money for patches.

Also, they do nothing in Plants vs. Zombies 2 except make slightly upgraded versions of normal plants that cost money. PopCap, bring the worlds back! #bustEA

EA is one of the greediest companies to have ever existed. But at least they make good games.

4 Google Google is an American multinational technology company specializing in Internet-related services and products. These include online advertising technologies, search, cloud computing, and software.

As much as I like the Play Store and YouTube, the games on their Play Store have in-app purchases even if they are free. They also bought YouTube. Finally, you buy shows on their Play Store while you can watch them for free online.

5 Nintendo Nintendo Co., Ltd. is a Japanese multinational consumer electronics and software company headquartered in Kyoto, Japan.

Nintendo was founded in 1889 as Nintendo Karuta by craftsman Fusajiro Yamauchi and originally produced handmade hanafuda playing cards. After venturing into various lines of... read more

They are the Disney of video game companies. Their game ports are more expensive than those on Xbox and PlayStation, with downgraded graphics and gameplay. Their consoles underperform in their generation, except for the GameCube.

They take money from Let's Players who record Nintendo games. I don't care how many of you on TopTens are going to attack me. It's true.

6 Starbucks Starbucks Corporation is an American coffee company and coffeehouse chain. Starbucks was founded in Seattle, Washington in 1971. Today it operates 23,768 locations worldwide, including 13,107 in the United States, 2,204 in China, 1,418 in Canada, 1,160 in Japan and 872 in South Korea.

Good coffee, yes.
One person does the work of two, yes.
Schedules your work unfairly, yes.
Takes advantage of hardworking people, yes.

7 Sony Sony Group Corporation, commonly known as Sony and stylized as SONY, is a Japanese multinational conglomerate corporation headquartered in Kōnan, Minato, Tokyo, Japan... read more

Let's raise the prices of PS Plus!
Better yet, let's make people pay to play online!

8 Capcom

They gave us Resident Evil, Street Fighter, and Mega Man, but also gave us disc-locked DLC, which is basically paying for what is already on the disc.

9 Dish Dish Network is an American direct-broadcast satellite service provider. The company provides satellite television, satellite Internet access, audio programming, and interactive television services to commercial and residential customers in the United States.

Basically, they have good channels but also try to get you to stick with them by making commercials hating on Direct TV, which takes money away from their rival.

10 Ubisoft Ubisoft Entertainment SA is a French multinational video game developer and publisher, headquartered in Rennes, France.

So, Assassin's Creed is good, but they also rehash Just Dance and their other franchises each year. They force PC gamers to use the terrible Uplay platform and still charge lots of money for microtransactions, DLC, and season passes. So yeah, a company good for the games, bad for the service.

The Contenders
11 Konami

How dare they bait the fans of Gurren Lagann when they disappointed us with some stupid pachinko machines instead of a new Gurren Lagann series! Just what the hell do you think one of your greatest works with the company Gainax is, Konami?

They make good games like Metal Gear and Castlevania. They excel in game development. However, they also treat their workers poorly and don't give them the credit they deserve. They are not good at treating workers well.

12 Roblox Corp. Roblox Corporation is an American video game developer based in San Mateo, California. Founded in 2004 by David Baszucki and Erik Cassel, the company is the developer of Roblox, which was released in 2006. As of June 30, 2021, Roblox Corporation employed 1,234 people.

They wouldn't fix their original vehicle system bugs and glitches, nor their physics system, including other bugs. Instead, they decided to ignore these issues and the community to make more profit than any other company out there. Things were better when Erik was around, but unfortunately, his life got cut short. They would be better off not being run by a Bill Gates wannabe.

You know what's ridiculous about this game? They support ODers (online daters) because they spend their money on Builders Club and Robux. So, we can all tell that they care more about money than a child's life.

13 Infinite Flight
14 Activision Activision Publishing, Inc. is an American video game publisher. It was founded on October 1, 1979 and was the world's first independent developer and distributor of video games for gaming consoles.

I wish they were higher up! I should've added them the first time! If I did, they were voted down! This song is terrible!

15 Apple Apple Inc. is an American multinational technology company that specializes in consumer electronics, software and online services headquartered in Cupertino, California, United States. True. They were responsible for the announcement of Kamp Koral, and they intentionally waited for Stephen Hillenburg to die just because he was against spin-offs of the SpongeBob series. Nickelodeon is literally defiling Hillenburg's grave for money.
