Top 10 Good Video Games with Bad Box Art
The artwork of Shantae used on this box art gives me strong "How to Draw Manga" book and Archie Sonic vibes. I'm glad that they improved and got their act together with the covers to Shantae and the Pirate's Curse and Shantae: Half-Genie Hero though (however, I'm pretty envious of the Japanese and the super-awesome cover art they gave to the 3DS version of The Pirate's Curse myself).

The North American box art to this game is pretty infamous alright.
I like that they added box art mega man in Street Fighter as a joke.

The North American and Japanese box arts were decent but the European box art was bland though with having just a render of Klonoa on a white background.
The European box art looks like something that should've been on the cover of a "How to Draw Manga" book instead.
I mean the North American SEGA Genesis box art, of course.
The European box art is just a random 2D render of Zero being angry and about to hit you with 2 Z-Sabers on a generic, flashy yellow background.
How do 3 Charlie's Angels rejects have anything to do with some Touhou-esque bullet hell game with anime-esque characters? And please don't get me started on the European box art...

The Japanese box art is great but the North American cover is pretty bad though with just having a render of Temjin slapped on some cybernetic background.
The cover alone tells me this is must be the greatest game ever. Why? Because it has a hillbilly playing the banjo. Can't argue with that.
Compare the American artwork to the Japanese. It's horrible
