101 Mr. Mister

Best hi tech band ever

102 Accept Accept Accept is a German heavy metal band from the town of Solingen, originally assembled by former vocalist Udo Dirkschneider, guitarist Wolf Hoffmann and bassist Peter Baltes.

Amazing band. Even better with mark on the lyrics

Accept the best...

Where's Accept in all of this? Where are Warrior or Manowar? Moorhead... oh the humanity!

103 Bronski Beat

Jimmy Somerville was amazing! That voice!

I was from the MTV generation of the 80s and I grew up watching "Hit the Perfect Beat" by Bronski Beat.
They're a British Trio who were the first few ones who openly came out as gays and sang songs that reflected their sentiments.

104 Living In A Box
105 Ramones Ramones The Ramones were an American punk rock band that formed in the New York City neighborhood of Forest Hills, Queens, in 1974. They are often cited as the first band to define the punk rock sound.

Second concert I visited at age 18. Legend! 110? Come on!

Most distinctive sound and very basic
Great rock

106 Bauhaus Bauhaus

108 Air Supply

Simply the best... Still rocking' until these days... They should be in the top list..

For people in love or who have lost love, Air Supply will always accompany them in times of heartaches and celebrations of love.

There songs are so good! Especially their lyrics!

Does Air Supply even count as music?

109 D'erlanger

At first they sounded speed metal like x-Japan and their drummer tetsu changed their style for the better - ronluna

110 Wham

George and Andrew were two guys that were perfect together to produce timeless pop songs and image. George with an amazing voice made this group one of the best and he later became the best with his own solo career.

George Michael is a very talented singer and songwriter. Underrated and should be higher on the list.

George was the best singer and songwriter then and still is now

Come on! Their t-shirts alone should put them in top 100.

111 Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark

"Dreaming" is one of my favourite songs from O.M.D. it's not exactly their most popular since they have produced song after song of Top Ten hits in the British, Australian, Canadian and American Charts. One of their biggest hits, "Enola Gay" is named after the plane that dropped the Hiroshima Bomb in Japan in WWII. But I guess, O.M.D. is best remembered for that iconic "If You Leave" for the hit movie "Pretty in Pink"

One of the best pop groups of 80s

Best synth pop band ever. I been hearing them since end of 70s until now. Almost 45 years active...

Should be up there in the top 10 in my opinion... so many great songs. A band with a knack for the catchy melody.

Should be way higher ranked

113 X Japan X Japan X Japan is a Japanese heavy metal band from Chiba, formed in 1982 by drummer Yoshiki and lead vocalist Toshi.

amazing band. just give them a chance. listen to Sadistic desire. also if the intro to some of their songs are quiet and slow, wait a couple seconds and it will speed up to speed metal. like Kurenai and silent jealousy and rose of pain.

114 Run-D.M.C

Should be in top 10. one of the best rap/hip hop artist ever

115 Tesla

Best Hard Rock Group from the 80's. Unfortunately, they were pigeon holed with the Hairbands of early. Their music is straight up rocking blues - no fillers or manufactured music by the label! Long live TESLA!

Tesla is the best 80s band. That's a fact

123? Are u kidding me?! Tesla had some of the greatest lyrics, hard hitting yet lucid sounds. I was beginning to wonder if they were even on the list. Should be in the top 20.

116 Japan

Musically the most talented band on this list, bar none. Could have achieved greatness

Everything they did nearly 40 years ago still sounds fresh today.

A band not happy with the commercial side of the music industry but what a live act.

Best music of the 80's by far, Sylvian a brilliant writer

I think that Jone jett is very cool and she's awesome

120 The Fixx

WOW... 118 really... This band is fantastic! They are the epitome of an 80's band... Great music, should be top 30 at the very least!

The Fixx is very underrated. Their songs have a lot of depth and meaning
