101 Ratt Ratt Ratt is an American heavy metal band that had significant commercial success in the 1980s, with their albums having been certified as gold, platinum, and multi-platinum by the RIAA.

Don't have a bad song toured the world and still playing. Should at least be in the top 15 top bands of the 80s. I guess more pop fans voting than rock.

Good lyrics, great sound, and an all around super band!

Should at least be in the top 20. One of the top headliner bands in the 80s

I saw this band in the 80's at a small venue called The Cellar in Hawaii (Oahu). It was Amazing to see them preform in front of maybe 70 people. They were very much a huge part of the 80's hair band movement.

102 Styx

My generation would agree Styx is among the best in their era. Dennis De Young and Tommy Shaw are great musician. Their songs are meaningful. Styx must be among the top ten

Why is this below skid Row?! Sure Youth gone Wild was good, but Styx released tons of hits!

Totally one of the best. Both Styx and Foreigner had a ton of hits... this list is way of base.

For pure rock and roll: ACDC, Foreigner, Styx, Scorpions, Van Halen, etc should be way closer to the top 20 than down near the bottom... who the hell is AlphaVille?

Great song and one of the best live shows around. Saw them in early 80's and again 2015 - even better. Should be in 10 top

103 Night Ranger

The fact that Night Ranger is so far down on the list is very disappointing to me.

The MOST underrated band ever. Still around kickin ass today!

Night Ranger is a lot better than these bands ahead of them

This is a disgrace, Night Ranger should be in the top 10.

104 Alphaville

Amazing melodies, deep meaningful lyrics, breathtaking vocals of Marian Gold... This band is just awesome. Unfortunately, most people only know about "Forever Young", but trust me, it's only the tip of the iceberg.

Love it! Awesome band. Full of great classics. Great memories!

Should be higher. Most of these bands belong in either the 90s or 70s

105 Ultravox

They are practically unknown in the U.S. The song "Vienna" is considered one of the finest European based singles yet the song didn't even make a dent on the music singles charts on the Western Hemisphere radio waves. Although they are unfairly lumped into the "New Romantic" movement, along with Japan they were a step ahead of their peers.

We'll one of the best bands of the 80's without question. Vienna made the all time top 10 of records, and again brilliant in 2013 with a great new album and tour.

No one made a sound quite like ultravox, loud live too and great synth rifts with rock instruments

Ultravox was the 80s. They influenced every band no question. The band of bands

106 Quiet Riot

QUIET RIOT IS AWESOME! WHY AREN'T THEY NUMBER 1 ON THE LIST? I MEAN, SERIOUSLY!

Awesome band, I wonder how it isn't in the top 10 at least

If this band is #117 the voters were brain dead in the 80s.

"come on Feel the Noize, girls, rock your boys. We'll get wild, wild, wild! "...

107 Green Day Green Day Green Day are an American punk rock band formed in East Bay, California in 1987. The members include Billie Joe Armstrong (vocals and guitar), Mike Dirnt (bass), Tré Cool (drums) and Jason White (guitar) . Green Day are associated with punk rock, pop punk and alternative rock . Some of their influences ...read more.

Green Day became a band on 1989 so they shouldn't be on this list even though they're my favorite band of all time. In 1994 they released Dookie which is what made them big. Since the demise of Nirvana, one band has remained to stay in the spot light and that band is Green Day. In 2004 they came out with the album American Idiot, which in my view is the greatest album if all time and it has been regarded as the greatest rock opera of all time. They've sold millions and millions of records and have sold out show after show. Though they are not as big anymore as Justin bieber or lady gaga they have remained to stay popular and sell albums and tickets to their shows by staying true to themselves and not selling out to whats popular just to make money.

I love this band! Why don't they have more votes?!? They are the best band ever!

One of my top favourite bands but they were not from the 80s for sure.

This is the best group EVER AND THEY DESERVE AT LEAST TOP 20 COME ON!

112 Accept Accept Accept is a German heavy metal band from the town of Solingen, originally assembled by former vocalist Udo Dirkschneider, guitarist Wolf Hoffmann and bassist Peter Baltes.

Amazing band. Even better with mark on the lyrics

Where's Accept in all of this? Where are Warrior or Manowar? Moorhead... oh the humanity!

119 D'erlanger

At first they sounded speed metal like x-Japan and their drummer tetsu changed their style for the better - ronluna

120 Air Supply

Simply the best... Still rocking' until these days... They should be in the top list..

For people in love or who have lost love, Air Supply will always accompany them in times of heartaches and celebrations of love.

There songs are so good! Especially their lyrics!

Does Air Supply even count as music?
