QUIET RIOT IS AWESOME! WHY AREN'T THEY NUMBER 1 ON THE LIST? I MEAN, SERIOUSLY!

Awesome band, I wonder how it isn't in the top 10 at least

If this band is #117 the voters were brain dead in the 80s.

AWESOME!

103 Ultravox

They are practically unknown in the U.S. The song "Vienna" is considered one of the finest European based singles yet the song didn't even make a dent on the music singles charts on the Western Hemisphere radio waves. Although they are unfairly lumped into the "New Romantic" movement, along with Japan they were a step ahead of their peers.

We'll one of the best bands of the 80's without question. Vienna made the all time top 10 of records, and again brilliant in 2013 with a great new album and tour.

No one made a sound quite like ultravox, loud live too and great synth rifts with rock instruments

Ultravox was the 80s. They influenced every band no question. The band of bands

They're great! I have all their vinyl records (the joker and the chameleon always present). Love them.

An amazingly interesting and great band! Loved them from the first listen

I totally love them so much material... best kept secret in music

The greatest from Prog Rock.
Any guitar in Rothery hands is magic.

Slayer is a frigging classic! Should be way up higher on the last, not almost at the bottom.

Better than half the bands on this list.

Needs to be in top 30 at least! brutal, violent, heavy death/thrash metal

WHY IS SLAYER AT 155? SLAYER SHOULD BE IN THE TOP 5

106 Green Day Green Day Green Day are an American pop punk and alternative rock band formed in East Bay, California in 1987. The members include Billie Joe Armstrong (vocals and guitar), Mike Dirnt (bass), Tré Cool (drums) and Jason White (guitar) . Green Day are associated with punk rock, pop punk and alternative rock. Some ...read more.

Green Day became a band on 1989 so they shouldn't be on this list even though they're my favorite band of all time. In 1994 they released Dookie which is what made them big. Since the demise of Nirvana, one band has remained to stay in the spot light and that band is Green Day. In 2004 they came out with the album American Idiot, which in my view is the greatest album if all time and it has been regarded as the greatest rock opera of all time. They've sold millions and millions of records and have sold out show after show. Though they are not as big anymore as Justin bieber or lady gaga they have remained to stay popular and sell albums and tickets to their shows by staying true to themselves and not selling out to whats popular just to make money.

I love this band! Why don't they have more votes?!? They are the best band ever!

One of my top favourite bands but they were not from the 80s for sure.

Should be higher in the ranking

109 Mr. Mister

Best hi tech band ever

110 Accept Accept Accept is a German heavy metal band from the town of Solingen, originally assembled by former vocalist Udo Dirkschneider, guitarist Wolf Hoffmann and bassist Peter Baltes.

Amazing band. Even better with mark on the lyrics

Accept the best...

Where's Accept in all of this? Where are Warrior or Manowar? Moorhead... oh the humanity!

111 Ramones Ramones The Ramones were an American punk rock band that formed in the New York City neighborhood of Forest Hills, Queens, in 1974. They are often cited as the first band to define the punk rock sound.

Second concert I visited at age 18. Legend! 110? Come on!

Most distinctive sound and very basic
Great rock

112 Air Supply

Simply the best... Still rocking' until these days... They should be in the top list..

For people in love or who have lost love, Air Supply will always accompany them in times of heartaches and celebrations of love.

There songs are so good! Especially their lyrics!

Does Air Supply even count as music?

113 Bronski Beat

Jimmy Somerville was amazing! That voice!

I was from the MTV generation of the 80s and I grew up watching "Hit the Perfect Beat" by Bronski Beat.
They're a British Trio who were the first few ones who openly came out as gays and sang songs that reflected their sentiments.

114 Living In A Box
115 Kool & the Gang

What a joy in comparison to all that heavy metal noise.

118 D'erlanger

At first they sounded speed metal like x-Japan and their drummer tetsu changed their style for the better - ronluna

119 Wham

George and Andrew were two guys that were perfect together to produce timeless pop songs and image. George with an amazing voice made this group one of the best and he later became the best with his own solo career.

George Michael is a very talented singer and songwriter. Underrated and should be higher on the list.

George was the best singer and songwriter then and still is now

Come on! Their t-shirts alone should put them in top 100.

120 Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark

"Dreaming" is one of my favourite songs from O.M.D. it's not exactly their most popular since they have produced song after song of Top Ten hits in the British, Australian, Canadian and American Charts. One of their biggest hits, "Enola Gay" is named after the plane that dropped the Hiroshima Bomb in Japan in WWII. But I guess, O.M.D. is best remembered for that iconic "If You Leave" for the hit movie "Pretty in Pink"

One of the best pop groups of 80s

Best synth pop band ever. I been hearing them since end of 70s until now. Almost 45 years active...

Should be up there in the top 10 in my opinion... so many great songs. A band with a knack for the catchy melody.
