NEEDS TO BE IN THE TOP 20

Should be way higher ranked

122 Japan

Musically the most talented band on this list, bar none. Could have achieved greatness

Everything they did nearly 40 years ago still sounds fresh today.

A band not happy with the commercial side of the music industry but what a live act.

Best music of the 80's by far, Sylvian a brilliant writer

123 X Japan X Japan X Japan is a Japanese heavy metal band from Chiba, formed in 1982 by drummer Yoshiki and lead vocalist Toshi.

amazing band. just give them a chance. listen to Sadistic desire. also if the intro to some of their songs are quiet and slow, wait a couple seconds and it will speed up to speed metal. like Kurenai and silent jealousy and rose of pain.

124 Run-D.M.C

Should be in top 10. one of the best rap/hip hop artist ever

125 Tesla

Best Hard Rock Group from the 80's. Unfortunately, they were pigeon holed with the Hairbands of early. Their music is straight up rocking blues - no fillers or manufactured music by the label! Long live TESLA!

Tesla is the best 80s band. That's a fact

123? Are u kidding me?! Tesla had some of the greatest lyrics, hard hitting yet lucid sounds. I was beginning to wonder if they were even on the list. Should be in the top 20.

Loverboy's hit singles, particularly "Turn Me Loose" and "Working for the Weekend", have become arena rock staples and are still heard on many classic rock and classic hits radio stations across the United States and Canada.

Working for the weekend!

.. We are all working for the weekend

By far the most original...These guys had a sound that was unique...and the songs were all about having fun...non political, great vocals by mike...awesome guitar by paul dean...

127 B'z B'z B'z is a Japanese rock duo, consisting of guitarist, composer and producer Takahiro "Tak" Matsumoto and vocalist and lyricist Koshi Inaba, known for their energetic hard-rock tracks and pop ballads.

Do you play Dragon's Dogma?

You're welcome.

She loved rock and roll. She loved chicks. We had a lot in common.

I think that Jone jett is very cool and she's awesome

129 The Fixx

WOW... 118 really... This band is fantastic! They are the epitome of an 80's band... Great music, should be top 30 at the very least!

The Fixx is very underrated. Their songs have a lot of depth and meaning
Great band!

The Fixx should be in the top 25. This band had hit after hit and were very talented musicians and song writters.

And the Style Council should also be on this list.

Not sure whose opinion this list was... But here's mine. Pink Floyd is one of the greatest bands EVER! Lots of great bands on this list... But Pink Floyd should be #5 on any list! Thought this was an 80's list? See a lot of bands on here that came out well before the 80's?

This is a "contest" for the Eighties, not what they did in the Sixties and Seventies... This band should NEVER have reformed without Roger... Their albums without him simply were not good enough to be called PF albums! Not that they were bad, they weren't, but David was a great guitar player and vocalist, not a prolific writer!

139? Are you kidding me? Best selling album and they are 139. Who would put A ha ahead of pink Floyd? They should be top 20 at least.

Pink Floyd most be in top 5
i can understand
how come it be so back behind

Wishing, the best

139 Oingo Boingo

Oingo Boingo missing from this list entirely is a travesty. Best of the up tempo post punk bands, known for their awesome Halloween concerts and Danny Elfman has gone on to greater glory scoring movies for Tim Burton and creating the theme music for the Simpsons and others.

Yes, Yes, YES! I have waited so long for someone to mention Oingo Boingo in ANY list. Why must they be overlooked by everyone? Why we they so unloved?

MY FAVORITE BAND. Very much an 80s band, but mixing synth pop, ska, punk, and jazz gives them a unique style. Listen to Insanity for an absolute masterpiece.

How is this band not higher? Love the upbeat feeling of their songs. Shame they're overlooked in almost everything.
