35 Gromit (Wallace & Gromit)
Gromit is a mute character - and I wouldn't have it any other way. He shows that a person does not have to be able to talk to be intelligent or show emotions. He uses his body for that! His reactions to his being on the wrong side of Wallace's inventions is always comic, but the sadness he shows during a particularly emotional scene always moves me to feel sympathetic for him. Although he is sometimes willing to let Wallace suffer a minor mishap when need be, he also shows clear, selfless bravery, and will put himself in danger to rescue anyone from death, and is always the first to take action when he gets even the slightest notion that something may be wrong. Gromit is an example to people like myself who have some kind of disablity - he knows that he can't talk, but doesn't let that stop him. Instead, he rises above and beyond this, never giving in until the end, which is why he is among my favourite animated characters.
