81 The Ramones The Ramones The Ramones were an American punk rock band that formed in the New York City neighborhood of Forest Hills, Queens, in 1974. They are often cited as the first band to define the punk rock sound.

Has influenced so many musicians in so many ways. One of the most original and yet most copied thereafter bands of its time. Still valid and amazing today.

the first punk rock group guys if you listen to blitzkrieg bop and loudmouth or even ramona (which is one of my favourites) you will see why

87 Jo Jo Gunne

I'm surprised to see them this high on the list... They're one of the best lesser known bands

88 Raspberries

Always underrated. Great rock.

89 The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band

Solid country rock -- associated with Linda Ronstadt, Eagles, Pure Prairie League, Poco.

Should be ranked much, much higher. Probably not because of some country, or too much.

90 Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are an American rock band from Gainesville, Florida. 91 The Guess Who The Guess Who The Guess Who was a Canadian rock band formed in 1962. The band was formed in Winnipeg, Manitoba and is mostly known for their hit "American Woman".

A great band. They sold more records in 1970 than any other band. To put them at #94 is completely bonkers. The were easily in the top 20 bands of the era.

Great band to grow up listening to--rock at its finest.

Wow should be much higher then 90. - MusicalPony

Under-rated because north of the U.S. border. Mega hits.

92 Three Dog Night

Many hits. Their voices also were the sound of the 70s, at least in NYC.

97 Allman Brothers

Awesome band. Went to see them at Summerfest in milwaukee, Wi (worlds largest music fest- 10 days of every kind of music), rained out. Went to bar nearby. Who walks in, right, Allman Bros. Small stage with instruments. THEY WENT UP & PLAYED!

Listen to blue sky, ramblin man and Whipping Post. Great songs - randomstofil

98 The J. Geils Band The J. Geils Band

These guys should be way higher. They have so many amazing hits and they're an outstanding band. I love the J. Geils Band. They need so much more credit and recognition.

Top 5 live band of all time... Limited catalogue yes... But enough for 2.5 to 3 hours of the most high energy- well played soulful R&B with outstanding lead showman...

99 Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young Crosby, Stills & Nash were an American-British-Canadian folk rock supergroup made up of David Crosby, Stephen Stills, and Graham Nash. They were known as Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young when joined by occasional fourth member Neil Young.

102? 102?!?!?! "Helplessly Hoping," "Judy Blue Eyes," "Our House," "Teach Your Children," "Find the Cost of Freedom"...classics, I say! And I was born in 1996!
