Greatest Bob Dylan Songs
The Contenders: Page 4
Come on, this song is amazing, everything sounds so perfect as a whole instrumentaly (not to mention Dylan's voice at this point), and the singing melody, emotion, and lyrics are beatiful. And it's in his best album. I thought it would be much higher :(
Needs to be much highet
62? It's GREAT
0.1 % of total votes? Number 55? My goodness. I know Dylan has a lot of great numbers but this really does rank high up on one of his best songs. The lyrics pierce you like anything describing an actual murder that was committed. Dylan's take on a segregated America and describing through the death of a maid is breathless.
"You who philosophies disgrace and criticizes all fears"
Dylan has a myriad of classics and brillaint songs, however this ranks among them and in my opinion the best. Tragic, expressive and folksy. And while this song is dated, the message and fundamental aspects are still applicable in today's society and I fear for generations to come.
62! Goddamnit! This is a truly heart-breaking song and it's pretty good. Just think about the lyrics... They'll change your life forever
While the situations are diferent, the idea still rings true. every time a police officer kills a black man and isn't punished, this song remains relevant. in the standford rape case, the rapist was only given 6 months in prison. uncanny - RecklessGreed
Very powerful lyrics and his best vocals ever.V 1 Comment
Pure poetry from dylan...perfect
Should be higher on the list. Heartfelt and sentimental lyrics, defeated instrumental and such an emotional song to listen to. One of my favourite Dylan songs.
Said to be only a filler song, it fills my Mind. Go listen.V 1 Comment
So surreal, but we've all had dreams like this?
Best bob dylan song...
Great song from the early 60s - quite rare but worth a listen. Also, if you see her say hello should be listed. Dylan has so many unique and wonderful songs that don't rate a mention. Abandoned love, Billy, Tomorrow is a long time - just to name a few
This was the tune that Bob adopted for Blowin' In The Wind and I still like this just as much.
Just looked it up and love it - so deep and bittersweet
What a rare gem. Also try Lay down your weary tune
Beautiful lyrics, perfect song, Knopfler's guitar adds an enhanced dimension. The most overlooked Dylan song and the best in my opinion. An insight into Bob's comtemplating mind while he's waking up and gazing at his lover in bed. The imagery that's conjured is so vivid. '2 men on a traintrack waiting for spring to come...'. 'Someone else is speaking with my mouth but I'm listening only with my heart'' I'll make shoes for everyone, even you, but I'll still go barefoot' beautiful...
From his epic album "Times they are a changin", Dylan critiques the hegemony of American Capital and the mindless hate, cynicism and hypocrisy fueled by their capitalist ideology in a beautiful yet satirical manner.
Amazing lyrics, definitely one of the most powerful Dylan's song.
Superb song, beautiful melody and wonderful lyrics
This song is way too low!
One of the most underrated songs on blood on the tracks. - RecklessGreedV 1 Comment
Short, clear, this song should be in the top ten due to his high quality. First track on the first album, "Bob Dylan". Just amazing. Listen!
What a tender, beautiful song. Probably the best of his more recent ballads, along with Make You Feel My Love.
