61 Theodore Roosevelt: Believe you can and you're halfway there.

Theory and practice are two different things. Believing goes in the category of theory. You can be only halfway there if you try your thoughts in practice.

A strong positive thought about succes - MatrixGuy

...or failure.

...possibly half way to failure, too.

62 "Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then where cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then he is not God." - Epicurus

The misconception here is that evil is an existing entity. It is nothing but the result of the absence of God just like Darkness is the result of the absence of light and cold is the result of the absence of energy. God is both able and willing but He is also Everlasting, Holy, Righteous and Merciful. We can't even begin the fathom the fact that God is everlasting how do we as mere creations presume to ridicule God for His decisions?

All your comments about god and satan doesn't make sense! Epicurus lived in a Roman empire where a monotheistic concept of religion didn't exist. Romans believed in many different gods and there was no organised religion for it. It were identities to bring a sacrifice if you wanted to. Saying that Epicurus didn't understood the conception of evil because he thought that evil was a entity is ridiculous. Theories about fallen angels were born hundreds of years later after Epicurus's writings. Even St.Augustinus had problems to solve this problem here. That's why he came with a theory of free will, sin, the battle between good and evil and so on. Without that speculative theory ( and because of humans the bible made it a true fact ) he would never have came to the solution to " roundabout " the true fact of Epicurus.

Satan was once an angel of God. God knew satan would betray him but he allowed it to happen. God also made Angels and all else out of himself. So God made evil but is willing to let others overcome it, God only makes evil to test the loyalty of his creations. When his creations overcome this evil with the help of God it only makes believers love him that much more,

No. There are atheists in the world.

63 Zoltan Bathory: If war is the answer, then what is the question?, and I guess the answer to that is "the meaning of life!" Because life IS war. Basically you're fighting against one thing or another right from the start.

Of course. You're fighting for your very existence just by going down the main street of any capital city and not being mauled by a Polar Bear...

64 Marilyn Manson: I wouldn't say a single word to them. I'd listen to what they had to say. And that's what no one did.
65 Marilyn Manson: If people really stopped and realized how much art and creative people move the world versus politics and religion, I mean, it's not even up for debate.

It definitely rocks my world more than flirting with spirituality ever has. And yes, Marilyn, your best album is one of them.

66 Albert Einstein: Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.

But to make something as simple as possible is to make it as simple as possible. It, by nature, cannot be simplified any further.

67 Marilyn Manson: You get depressed because you know that you're not what you should be.

Or you have a genetic pre-disposition to mental illness.

68 Logan Eddy: To be odd is to be normal, to be normal is to be odd, for no one man is truly and divinely regular among others.

This sense of entitlement in today's society where almost every person on the planet wants their slice of fame via social media is repugnant. If you suffer status disorder, go speak to a loved one instead.

70 Marilyn Manson: When all of your wishes are granted, many of your dreams will be destroyed.

I wish for as much money as Marilyn Manson, because there are things I dream of that will enrich my life, not destroy it.

Ah, but if you could have everything in existence with a single word. what would you wish for? you cannot work towards any goal ever because you are already there. when you have everything, the one thing you lose is something to work towards and then life has no meaning.

71 You have to hand it to life for the sheer amount of tools it has at its disposal to bring a man down - Philip Roth

Cancer, DUI killings, murder, heart attacks, mental illness, loss, grief, financial woes, extra marital affairs, war, famine,...Need I go on?

I'm paraphrasing the great man, and it may not be word for word from 'Sabbath's Theatre' (from memory), but never has a truer word been spoken.

72 If you really want to save the planet, kill yourself - Bill Hicks

This is stupid. If everybody should follow this thought ( meaning everybody on this planet commiting suicide ) there will nothing to be saved anymore. And if you should kill yourself, you think that others will care for that? Or the other way around? Kill everybody but yourself around you. No matter how you put it, this quote doesn't make sense.

As nihilistic as it may sound, the great man was simply stating the obvious fact that everyone leaves their footprint on the planet, whether they're good, bad, or indifferent.

He is a smart man, since we are the people killing the planet, if we were not here the planet wouldn't need saving

The great lyricist killing it with his swipe at poor communication in relationships.

76 John Lennon: Imagine there's no heaven, it's easy if you try

It's easy for me ( I agree ) but for many people not so easy because they're lost without hope of an afterlife. Lost when they have to imagine that life is meaningless ( most people can't accept that life and death is a once and only thing ). Easy for some but impossible for others.

77 Bertrand Russell: It has been said that man is a rational animal. All my life I have been searching for evidence of this.
78 W.C. Fields: Anything worth having is worth cheating for.

Philadelphia! Comedy as dry as a bone.
