Top Ten Greatest Rap Albums
The Contenders: Page 3
It's new but it's the best there is not a bad track Rap God and Bad Guy are better than the whole Recovery album that has the 20 stop
I've been singing this album's praise since I started my account, and it has only grown on me since. You could say that overall the prequel and Eminem Show were better and I wouldn't be mad. But not only does this have one of the greatest rap songs of all time (Bad Guy), as well as having not one track I dislike, Eminem's technical abilities here surpass...well...pretty much every other rapper I've ever heard, including other Eminem albums. - WonkeyDude98
First Eminem album I've ever purchased. Do not regret it one bit. This man is a genius and this album proves that.
Not his best but still pretty goodV 13 Comments
Still upcoming, in about 4 years this will be the best selling album ever.
No way recovery should be in the top ten just listen to one song on it and you'll be hooked to recovery Eminem the best
While Eminem's voice was pretty uncontrolled and monotonous, and the album as a whole was kind of gray, it's still an incredible album that I highly recommend. If we're just basing it off lyrical content, this is Eminem's best album to date. - WonkeyDude98
I love Eminem.. But this album isn't very good... if you think this album is better than the marshall mathers LP and the eminem show you're wrong.V 16 Comments
Outkast hit an absolute home run with this. The style within was quintessentially southern, but very creative in terms of electronic production, as well. And does a rap duo get better than Andre 3000 and Big Boi? Phenomenal album.
Amazing. This should be the standard by which all southern hip hop albums should aspire to. Amazing album, and rosa parks is one of the best hip hop songs of all time
Not only the best rap album, but one of the best albums of all time. GOAT
Wow. #54? should be way higher.V 3 Comments
One of the most incredible rappers to walk the face of the earth but he was slept on! RIP Big L
What 74? THIS IS THE GREATEST UNDERGROUND RAP ALBUM OF ALL TIME
Great album. Underrated. Everyone should listen to this.
If he lived just a few years more, he'd be commonly mentioned amongst the best ever on the mic, to both battle and recordV 11 Comments
Come on guys this is truly a great album
Awesome album without unnecessary skits and intros. All great songs
Come on all great songs on this album lp kills it in the production and killer Mike is on it the whole album only bad song is love again
A classic. The debate between stillmatic and the blueprint still goes on to this day. Whether you think stillmatic or the blueprint is better all hip hop fans agree that they're both amazing albums. Classics.
This is Nasir Jones' 2nd best album after Illmatic
Nas the GOAT another CLASSIC
My favourite Nas albumV 1 Comment
Please, if you haven't heard this album, please do, it is truly amazing. Mathematics, do it know (amazing beat and busta rhymes kills it), hip hop, speed law, so many amazing songs on one album. Who thought that a song called habitat, about the place you live, could be so amazing. If you don't know what I mean, listen to the song, you'll know what I'm saying. This should be far higher, better than recovery, encore, and relapse combined. Please, if you're going to say your a rap fan listen to some real music, not some crap on Encore. - Totalbeasto001
Contains some brilliant songs like speed law and mathematics.V 1 Comment
Best album of 2014. Every song of beginning to end tells a story. Cole has made some amazing mix tapes but this by far is his best studio album. The album starts off perfectly with January 28th and ends off with one of the most touching songs Cole has ever made with Love Yours. People throw the word Classic around too much these days..but this is a CLASSIC
May not be the greatest hip-album of all time but it is no doubt my favorite. Tells a story all throughout the album and the production is top notch. The album seems to be about the pursuit of happiness. J Cole has, in my opinion, the best flow today and he shows that in this album. I especially love the piano used in this album.
I don't think that this album deserves to be considered as one of the greatest albums OF ALL TIMES, but it's definitely one of the best pieces of art of this generation. The creativity and the way Cole put his lyrics together here is just amazing and personally I love every single track from the album. Just my opinion though. This album is a must.
Best album of all time, besides The Eminem ShowV 23 Comments
The first rap album I ever bought. Great for it's time because it wasn't 100% hip hop, there was a strong reggae element and great acoustic tracks gave it a more widespread appeal. Great album
I just found this album and I can't get enough. It's truly a masterpiece beginning to end
Songs like fu gee la, mask, killing me softly all show the diversity of the group, making it an instant classic
As a music producer and hip-hop head, I have made it my mission to listen to the hip-hop classics. From the likes of Grandmaster Flash through contemporary rap albums like DAMN.
When I came across this album, listening chronologically from the roots of hip-hop, I knew I had found a true GEM. Over two decades later and this album still shines just as bright!
The bridge is ouvah
This should be way higher pun is had a unique flow like no other, this album is very underrated it definitely should be in the top 50 at least
One of the deadliest flows to ever touch the mic.
How is this not on here?
What this is top 20V 3 Comments
Their best album, but it's not rap buddy.
What is this album doing here? It is great, but what the hell :')
Ice T was the first Hip Hop I properly LISTENED to and connected to. There is no Cat that is cooler. He REALLY doesn't get the respect that he is due. Dre, Cube and all the rest would tell you, under no illusion that T was the OG, the first ACTUAL Gangster rapper. That's just fact. His flow on this LP is insane. Check out 'fly by' or 'escape from the killing fields'.
Very good. Debatable as to which is better, damn or to pimp a butterfly
Great on the first listen and then it gets better and better. There are levels to this...
Everybody in hip hop has been trying to catch up to Kanye for the last decade. Kendricks the only one to do it, and this album proves it. Nobody knew what to expect after TPAB, much less top it. With DAMN. He may have outdone himself, and everybody else along with it.
GKMC and TPAB are both classics, and S80 is great too, but this was right up there with all of them in my opinionV 8 Comments
I just want to be in the comments
Lupe's best album and my personal fave of 2015
Mural puts this album in the top 50
On of the best albums I've ever hear, regardless of genre
This album should easily be in the top ten. Jay-Z and Kanye West are two rap heavyweights who combined both of their talents to create one super-album. Time goes by, but Jay and Yeezy never miss a beat.
Only heard one on this album, No church in the wild, but it was very
Underrated by far on of the greatest albums of all time
This album will go down as: legendaryV 2 Comments
