Greatest Rock Guitarists of All Time

The Contenders: Page 8

141 Jeff Hanneman Jeff Hanneman Jeffrey John "Jeff" Hanneman was an American musician, best known as a founding member of the American thrash metal band Slayer.

...Should be higher than Kerry King, on this list. King was good...but, Hanneman was the real mastermind behind all their licks (and I don't even like Slayer lol...I just recognize talent when I see it)

142 Zacky Vengance
143 Stevie Ray Vaughan Stevie Ray Vaughan Stephen "Stevie" Ray Vaughan (October 3, 1954 – August 27, 1990) was an American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. In spite of a short-lived mainstream career spanning seven years, he is widely considered one of the most influential electric guitarists in the history of music, and more.

he died in his prime, another guitarist we all miss, who knows what he could've done had he lived. saw him in concert twice. the gorge in george back in the 90s
one of the greatest concerts I've ever seen. -

The Mastermind of all Blues/Rock. He played everything out on his guitar. No drugs needed, just pure skill.

I agree with a lot of these picks but really Stevie belongs at the very least in top ten!

What couldn't he play? And we single-handly jump started the careers of older black blues/R&B guartist and gave them exposure that they needed. And he played things that are physically hard to replicate with those heavy strings. He should be rated much higher because he was extraordinarily gifted guartist guartist, was generous, humble and even Clapton didn't want to follow him in the last performance he ever gave. Music flowed through him, he never got lost and he could play all guitar parts on his own at the same time he played lead. Self taught and died too young...imagine what we've lost... so many on this list have years of work to rely on, not SRV and Hendrix of course. They belong a bit closer on the list...

144 Kurt Cobain Kurt Cobain Kurt Cobain was born February 20, 1967, in Aberdeen, Washington. In 1988, he started the grunge band Nirvana. He was a talented yet troubled grunge performer. Kurt Cobain became a rock legend in the 1990s with his band. He committed suicide at his Seattle home in 1994.

He created an entire style of music it's not how difficult his music was to play but then again I have never heard anyone come close to making a jag sound like Kurt.

Kurt Cobain is the best.
Should be there in the top 10 at least.

Should be in the top 10! An Amazing guitar player who was about being creative on the guitar and not a boring virtuso.

He sucks.

145 John Petrucci John Petrucci John Peter Petrucci is an American guitarist, composer and producer. He is best known as a founding member of the progressive metal band Dream Theater.

You joking, right - BJ Armstrong is before the person who could have probably reinvented guitar playing? I don't even want to start...

Petrucci is THE best guitar player. Simply he is most technical, brings most variations AND is a great song writer and composer. Small detail is that he co founder of worlds best and most sophisticated band, DT.

What the hell is wrong with people? Yeah, I do love RHCP, Green Day, A7x, n AC/DC, but there is absolutely no waaayyy he is behind the guitarists of the bands mentioned above... like come on..A7x was inspired by DT... conclusion:- this list is STUPID!
