What a legend! I remember growing up we thought he was "the devil" but now his act is respectfully devilish. Not sure what I mean? See him in concert. He's a hoot. I love to read about his life, too. I saw him during his ""Spend the Night with Alice" tour in 2016. He was fantastic.

His Sun records, his 1956-1958 records have plenty of things that would be inspirational for Rock 's development. Without him none of the " legends " ranked above him would be there. And if you can't stand his Rock songs ( not only his hits! ) then you're not a true Rock lover.
