The Contenders: Page 3
46, really, after all the impact on people?
It's a fantastic song, which brilliantly captures the feeling of not wanting to grow up and feeling nostalgic about your riotous adolescence. It reminds me of music from the Britpop era, which is always a plus.
This is a true musical masterpiece. Just listen to it with headphones on with full concentration. Everything is perfect. Not just the solo. The instruments complement the vocals and everything is of such a high level. This song could easily be up there with the likes of "Master Of Puppets" or "Hallowed Be Thy Name".
When the solo comes in, this song took me to other places but maybe that's just me. There is something more about this song than other music. Sometimes there is just that one song that just reaches higher levels than others. This is one of those songs.
This will never be number one, unless Alter Bridge gets popular with the mainstream public, but I doubt that.
Without a doubt the best song of the 21st century, and one wouldn't be crazy to put it in the top 3 of all time. Alter Bridge masterfully communicates deep emotions through explosive choruses, and one of the best bridge/solo sections of all time. Then when the final chorus explodes in after Mark Tremonti shreds his face off, it is perhaps the most emotional moment in music history. This song transcends any generation.
One of the masterpieces in rock history. Listen to it with headphones. It must be in top 10. If other band like Linkin Park would have sung this dong, I bet it would be in (at least) top 5. Music at its best, this is the best of Alter Bridge & also the best in rock.
The only reason this isn't first is because it ain't mainstream
I love this song! It's so cool and Billy Joe does fantastic vocals, as usual. I really love Green Day, but I think Boulevard of Broken Dreams is a bit too slow.
Love the bass solo. Mike Dirnt is the second best alternative bassist
This song has so much meaning behind it and I believe that it should be higher on the list
Sick, yet brilliant. Rammstein's pinnacle is the ultimate blend of damn heavy guitar riffs, powerful vocals and a drumming performance I will remember forever (military march drumming as background sound before the refrain remains the most intriguing beat I' ve ever heard in a rock/metal song).
A number 1 song truly
Absolutely the best song in this list. Radiohead are the best band of the 21st century and they deserve the 1st place. Amazing melodies, very good lyrics and Thom Yorke's great voice
This should at least be top 10... has the most catchy guitar playing I've ever heard and the whole song is epicV 1 Comment
The Flaming Lips have to be one of the quirkiest bands ever, and this song encapsulates a lot of great things about the band. Is it a love song? Who knows?
Why is Creed more popular than Alter Bridge? They're, essentially, the same bands but AB has a better lead singer in Myles Kennedy who actually let's Mark Tremonti sing occasionally. Alter Bridge's songs make much more sense and Mark's solos for AB are much better than his for Creed. Most importantly, Myles hasn't done a bunch of stupid things as Scott Stapp did. Therefore, AB should be more popular. Regardless, Alter Bridge is the 2nd best rock band of the 21st century, 2nd only to Shinedown.
Alter Bridge needs more songs on this list. Like every song they've ever recorded. I mean, seriously, the band that according to a 2011 poll has the #1 guitar solo of all time (Blackbird) is only #29 on this list?! Come on.
It should be in top 10. Amazing intro, good lyrics plus mike's voice. Very neat composition.
