Greatest Singer/Lead Guitarists Ever

The Contenders: Page 2

21 Steve Miller (Steve Miller Band)

This guy is simply amazing. He's got a great voice and he plays some very nice melodies. So many great songs. I love him and his music. He is a fantastic musician.

22 George Harrison George Harrison George Harrison was an English guitarist, singer, songwriter, and music and film producer who achieved international fame as the lead guitarist of the Beatles.

Playing what the song demands = Harrison's guitar solos

23 Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society) Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society) Zakk Wylde is an American musician, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and occasional actor who is best known as the former guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne, and founder of the heavy metal band Black Label Society.

Always amazing on stage, but also out stage. He is for me, one of the best guitarists ever. I had a excellent moment with his band last year in France, at the Hellfest in Clisson. He also is a great compositor, and don't forget all his hard work with Ozzy Osbourne.
With a voice like his, you just feel like the universe is bigger than all you can imagine. Zakk Wylde is the man, and I'll always listen to his music as long as it will make me sing and move like a bloody freak. BLS for life! Strenght, Determination, Merciless, Forever!

Zakk wylde is one of the best guitarists on the planet as well as one of the best singers he is just f#@$@#% awesome

24 John Fogerty (Creedence Clearwater Revival)

Based on talent he should be number two after Eric Clapton, unfortunately most voters here are younger and have not been exposed to musicians who are truly talented. This list is just another disappointing example of the musical tastes of some individuals today.

25 Michael Poulsen (Volbeat) Michael Poulsen (Volbeat) Michael Schøn Poulsen is a Danish vocalist and guitarist. He is currently the singer and main songwriter of the band Volbeat.
26 Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins) Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins) William Patrick "Billy" Corgan Jr. is an American musician, songwriter, producer, television writer, poet, and professional wrestling promoter best known as the lead singer, guitarist, and sole permanent member of The Smashing Pumpkins.

If you don't vote him, you obviously haven't heard him play. Please listen/re listen to Siamese Dream all the way through. It's changed my life. Jimmy Chamberlin I feel should be included in my comment as one of the best drummers of all time.

Created some of the best guitar solos... While having one of the best singing voices ever

A lot of people don't like his voice, which I get, but after you listen to SP for a while, you can enjoy it. Also, people don't realize what a great guitarist he is. To me, he is one of the greatest musicians in recent history.

27 Keith Richards (The Rolling Stones) Keith Richards (The Rolling Stones) Keith Richards is an English musician—primarily a guitarist—singer, songwriter, best-selling memoirist, and founding member of the rock band The Rolling Stones.

31 Justin Hayward (Moody Blues) Justin Hayward (Moody Blues)

Probably one of the most underrated guitars/songwriters/singers in one of the most underrated musical ensembles in history, the Moody Blues. His virtuosity extends to so many stringed instruments and musical genres and styles.

32 Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top) Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top) William Frederick "Billy" Gibbons is an American musician, singer, songwriter, producer, and actor, best known as the guitarist and lead vocalist of the American rock band ZZ Top.

One of the best singers and guitar players. When you reach the prestige he has in either capacity, it's hard not to be ranked up there in terms of both combined

33 John Mayer John Mayer

Totally underrated. He is an awesome singer but is way better at guitar. His singing skills can't match his guitar skills. He is a really good singer also. He is really good looking and has a soothing voice. He is really underrated and should be before Billie Joe Armstrong.

So underrated at guitar. Some people pass him by saying that he is too poppy, but once you listen to him, you get blown away. Amazing guitarist and singer.

Good at all
Nice looking

He plays guitar too? He's a very good singer. But I don't think he played guitar. Lead guitar. - zxm

AH, Yah... He DOES play the guitar and drums and sings, not all at the same time but guitar and singing... Definitely, very sexy!

Shouldn't be on this list as he isn't the lead guitarist for Maroon 5, and very rarely plays guitar in Maroon 5.

Never played a song the same way twice.

I'm sorry but this is disgraceful. Why is Jared Leto on top, and SRV in position #40. Let me tell you, there is nobody on this list, aside Jimi Hendrix maybe, who can match SRV in terms of soul, passion and emotion in their singing and playing. He and Hendrix are truly the two greatest guitarists of all time. They were too good for this world, that's why they're gone. May they both rest in peace

Sorry, but he's too low on the list...
Maybe the best blues guitarist and a really good singer - Rocker00
