Montrose, Solo, Van Halen, Solo, Chickenfoot, Solo enough said

Sings better than most vocalists, and can hang with the greatest guitarists.

62 Synyster Gates Synyster Gates Brian Elwin Haner, Jr., better known by his stage name Synyster Gates or simply Syn, is an American musician, best known for being the lead guitarist and backing vocalist of the band Avenged Sevenfold.

He's the best guitarist for me... he's awesome playing the video afterlife..

63 Till Lindemann Till Lindemann
64 Chet Atkins Chet Atkins

Why isn't he even mentioned here? Ask almost any picker on this list what they think of his playing and he will be rated, if not the best, very close. He started finger picking and tons of lead guitarists from around the world and from many genres have studied his style of play and some of the people on the list have gone to study under him.

66 Dave Grohl Dave Grohl David Eric "Dave" Grohl is an American rock musician, multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, and producer. He is best known as the drummer for the grunge band Nirvana and the vocalist/guitarist for the alternative rock band Foo Fighters.
67 Tom Verlaine

Front man of Television, though not exactly an outgoing guy it would seem. Brilliant and highly original guitarist. Unusually doesn't believe in distortion as a rule..

68 Thom Yorke Thom Yorke Thomas Edward "Thom" Yorke is an English musician best known as the singer and principal songwriter of the alternative rock band Radiohead.

Agree with the visitor, agreed that he sings and plays guitar, but mainly rhythm guitar, not lead guitar. - zxm

He's never been the lead guitarist of Radiohead.

69 George Thorogood (George Thorogood and the Destroyers)
70 Chuck Berry Chuck Berry Charles Edward Anderson "Chuck" Berry was an American guitarist, singer and songwriter, and one of the pioneers of rock and roll music. He died on 18 March 2017.
71 Joe Perry (Aerosmith) Joe Perry (Aerosmith) Anthony Joseph "Joe" Perry is the lead guitarist, backing and occasional lead vocalist, and contributing songwriter for the American rock band Aerosmith.

He has done some singing, here and there, and his voice actually isn't bad. He's also an amazing guitarist and songwriter. He more than well deserves a spot on this list.

Not much of a lead singer but whatever floats your boat.

72 Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake) Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake) Doug Aldrich, is a Los Angeles-based hard rock guitarist. He founded the band Burning Rain with Keith St.
73 Orianthi
74 Ric Ocasek
75 Adrian Belew (King Crimson/Adrian Belew Power Trio/Crimson Projekct) Adrian Belew (King Crimson/Adrian Belew Power Trio/Crimson Projekct) Adrian Belew is an American musician, songwriter and record producer. A multi-instrumentalist primarily known as a guitarist and singer, Belew is noted for his unusual, impressionistic approach to guitar playing.

The list is about musicians who are singers and LEAD guitarists at the same time, so I don't get why James Hetfield is up there at No. 1! The guy's great, but he's not a lead guitarist.

Even more surprising is to see that Adrian Belew doesn't even appear on this list at all and 61 others appeared before I added him just now! Just listen to him sing while playing Frame by Frame or Three of a Perfect Pair, this guy is insane!

76 Jerry Cantrell Jerry Cantrell Jerry Fulton Cantrell Jr. is an American musician who is best known as the lead guitarist, co-lead vocalist and main songwriter for the rock band Alice in Chains.

Massively underrated both as a singer and a guitarist!

77 Freddie Mercury Freddie Mercury Freddie Mercury was born in Stone Town, Tanzania he later became a British singer, songwriter and record producer, known as the lead vocalist and songwriter of the rock band Queen. He also became known for his flamboyant stage persona and four-octave vocal range. Before he became a singer he has been more.

Leader singer of queen, amazing vocalist, need him on it - andnolan07

This kinda doesn't make sense here but it doesn't matter because he's so awesome

Amazing singer, decent guitarist, but no lead guitarist.

Lead singer, not lead guitarist. - zxm

78 Chad Kroeger Chad Kroeger Chad Robert Kroeger is a Canadian musician and producer, best known as the lead vocalist and guitarist for the Canadian rock band, Nickelback.
79 Bono (U2) Bono (U2) Paul David Hewson, known by his stage name Bono, is an Irish singer-songwriter, musician, venture capitalist, businessman, and philanthropist. His original nickname was Bono Vox which means "big voice".

Awesome rock vocalist and yes he did play guitar on one song

80 Myles Goodwyn (April Wine)

If you ever see this man live you will understand. He has one of the best voices I've heard, he can pump out hits like nobody's business, and although he is no Hendrix or Clapton he has always held his own with his contemporaries on lead guitar too.
