The Contenders: Page 2

21 Into the Mystic - Van Morrison
22 Without You - Harry Nilsson

Yes he is a good piece of song I like it

23 Come Together - John Lennon
24 Lovers - Jackie Evancho

The theme from "House of Flying Daggers". Simply amazing.

Jackie still performs this at the age of 15, at every concert. You have to see it to believe it. Phenomenal! - BobG

What a powerful performance by a little girl!

Has to be seen/heard.
Surprisingly good.

25 Since I've Been Loving You - Robert Plant
26 Piece Of My Heart - Janis Joplin

Amazing and problably the greatest female performence of all time. -

27 Billie Jean - Michael Jackson
28 Landslide - Stevie Nicks
29 Earth Song - Michael Jackson
30 And Then There Was Silence - Blind Guardian (Hansi Kürsch)
31 Love Reign O'er Me - Roger Daltrey

There is no doubt "Bohemian Rhapsody" is the greatest song in popular music history and Freddie Mercury is the greatest rock singer that ever lived, but the greatest vocal performance is definitely Roger Daltrey with "Love Reign O'er Me". He belts the emotion out and it's a perfect ending to Quadrophenia. Oh God I need a drink... of COOL COOL RAIN!

It's so energetic, so loud, so real, and a major contender for the top spot position. -

Actually, there is a ton of doubt about BoRap being the GOAT. I can think of 50 songs that are better, and a dozen singers better than Freddie.

Awesome! - Garjen

32 Can't Help Falling In Love - Elvis Presley
33 Respect - Aretha Franklin
34 Victim of Changes - Rob Halford

The High Pitched Screms, the epic voice, and the song itself makes it one of the greatest vocal perfomences.

Judas Priest forever! Best vocal performance.
Victim of chaanges!

35 I Will Always Love You - Whitney Houston

Come on, way better than Greatest Love of All. Perfectly arranged, sung and felt! In terms of female pop, none better.

36 Baby I Need Your Loving - Levi Stubbs

Any of several songs by the Four Tops could be on this list, but I think this one is the best. Levi Stubbs had the most evocative voice anywhere.

I can't think of a song Levi Stubbs did that wasn't good, but to really hear him sing, you have to listen to the less commercial songs and unreleased tracks.

37 Who Want's To Live Forever - Freddy Mercury

Freddie was and still is a voice that you just can't shake it still gives me goosebumps!

38 For Whom the Bell Tolls - Metallica (James Hetfield)
39 Happiness is a Warm Gun - John Lennon
40 Behind Blue Eyes - Roger Daltrey
