Top Ten Best Green Bay Packers Players of Week 2, 2019
Jones continues to look like a top ten running back in the NFL, once again going over 100 yards rushing and a touchdown. He also has really started to get going in the receiving game. Great game from Jones.
Kenny Clark really got after the Vikings rookie center Garrett Bradbury. Clark got constant pressure on Kirk Cousins and strip sacked him once, and the Packers recovered it. He’s on his way to getting paid soon.
Smith had another great game. He had a few tackles, multiple pressures, and an interception.
While he did drop two potential interceptions, Alexander still had a great game. I was impressed by how much he was batting the ball away. While he may not always get the interception, he knows how to play.
Adams went over 100 receiving yards and hauled in the first down reception that sealed the game. Surprisingly, he has not found the end zone yet this season.
The Packers second 1st round pick at safety, Savage proved why he was taken that high. He was a sure tackler, he could cover receivers, and even batted the ball right into Preston Smith’s hands for an interception.
Martinez was a tacking machine the whole game, with 13 tackles. He’s now where he belongs among the top five players with the most tackles in the NFL currently.
King had his second career interception in this game, and it was yet another clutch one. It came from a bad throw into the end zone, and he jumped up for it. While he’s often injured, King is still a really good player when healthy.
Smith continues to lead the Packers defense and continues to dominate opposing offensive linemen.
