Top Ten Grooviest Names to Call a Planet

The Top Ten
1 Quirinus

Traditionally, planets have been named after Roman Gods. Quirinus was the god of Roman State, which I think makes it a fitting name for a future human colony.

2 Sagan
3 Helliconia

Named after the planet in a very thought-provoking science fiction trilogy which bears the same name.

4 Tatooine

If a planet in a galaxy far far away was ever discovered, it should be named this, naturally.

Lol this is already taken.

5 Wanderer
6 Titan

This may lead to confusion, but it's still an excellent name for both a planet and a moon!

I know this is the name of one of Saturn's moons, but I just love the way it sounds.

It's so simple, yet it rocks. And that's exactly what it is! A big rock.

I like the name Titan

7 Alben Islands

A girl in my class gave me this idea when I was writing a Sci-Fi novel. Very creative.

8 Minecraftia

For those of you who are Minecraft fans, (like myself) this name shall be exceedingly groovy for you!

IF you consider the word Minecraft as a meaningless word, it would seem like a fairyland

Yes! This would be the perfect planet name!

The land of Minecraft!

9 Wildhawk
10 Phaelon

This is the planet on Flight of the Navigator where the robot I have a crush on comes from. Don't know why, but I've always really liked this planet's name.

The Contenders
11 Monstropollus

This is what I called a planet in a story about monsters.

12 New Earth
13 Guth
14 Faylanden

Made this up off the top of my head, has a nice ring to it.

15 Everlest

I love this. When I get sent into another galaxy and conquer the aliens on it (no hate) I will name it this.

Yet another name I used in a story. Love the way it sounds.

16 Minerva
17 Goldenshine

This one just sounds peaceful.

18 Maxamillion Maximus

I like the name Max, and this would be cool and groovy for a planet.

20 Nibiru
21 Duplon

This is referenced to "The Lego Movie". I just kind of like it because it sounds kind of funny.

One for all Red Dwarf fans! Although I can't really picture a planet being named after someone like Arnold Rimmer.

23 Caelestia
24 Aquamarine

Just though of a planet like Kepler 22 b, you know full of water and name might suit it
