Top Ten Best Guardians of the Galaxy Characters

This acts as both a list for the best characters in the 2014 film (and any future installments) as well as characters from the comics or any other media form.
The Top Ten
1 Rocket Raccoon Rocket Raccoon is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Bill Mantlo and artist Keith Giffen, the character first appeared in Marvel Preview #7. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he is portrayed by Bradley Cooper.

This is the obvious choice out of all the characters in this movie. Not only is he funny and adorable, but he is also very cool, skilled in technology and fighting, and has so much potential in character development! When he was talking about being taken apart and put together again over and over when he was drunk and attacking Gamora, I knew that he had a traumatizing past and this opened up an opportunity for great character development. Good Job Rocket!

I just love his character design in every way, physically, personality-wise, he's just really interesting and really relatable and undeniably a brilliant character altogether. He is arguably more individual than most human characters in today's media, but he also manages to provide a lot of comedy through his lines and their delivery, not to mention he's a total badass. Rocket is awesome.

2 Groot Groot is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Larry Lieber and Dick Ayers, the character first appeared in Tales to Astonish #13. An extraterrestrial, sentient tree-like creature, the original Groot first appeared as an... read more

Only says one or two words, but actions speak louder. A wonderful character.

I love Groot. He is awesome and he should be first.

It really says a lot about a character when they only say 5 words and still become a fan favorite

3 Peter Quill / Star-Lord Star-Lord is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character, created by Steve Englehart and Steve Gan, first appeared in Marvel Preview #4... read more

Hey everyone I am Star-lord l am not going
To fight you but I will dance fight you and
Gamora will you marry me I think your cute
And sexy. team I am totally not trying to kiss
gamora and is not letting me to it.
Now let's have a lot fun and listen to a bunch of really cool 1980s music bye family.

ps: do you think Thor is lying about him being good.

If he didn't danced there won't be any planet in the universe by now

4 Drax the Destroyer Drax the Destroyer is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he is portrayed by Dave Bautista.
5 Gamora Gamora is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by Jim Starlin, the character first appeared in Strange Tales #180. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, she is portrayed by Zoe Saldana.

How is Gamora 5th place! She is obviously the best guardian of the galaxy because she's so cool, original, and interesting. How is Rocket Raccoon first, he's the weakest Guardian, to be honest. Nebula beat him in Vol.2. And Gamora beat Nebula so she's more powerful. Gamora forever.

Why is she so low though? The only female that's a guardian and she's so cool. This list confuses me.. why is Rocket Raccooon so high, this is my top 5
5. Star-Lord
4. Nebula
3. Drax
2. Groot
1. Gamora

Um no. Gamora should be #1. How tf could Rocket Raccoon beat her. She can beat anyone in a fight and she is very powerful

6 Nebula Nebula is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, she is portrayed by Karen Gillan.
7 Thanos Thanos is a fictional supervillain appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character was created by Jim Starlin and Mike Friedrich. The character first appeared in Iron Man #55 and has been portrayed by actors Damion Poitier and Josh Brolin in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

A dude who sits on his butt all day, but yet feared like the fires of hell.

He's the strongest of all! he can simple handedly battle the whole marvel universe. He has the infinity gauntlet with the stones! so powerful!

Thanks is not Guardians of the Galaxy, but he's still a good villain

8 Yondu Yondu Udonta, or simply Yondu, is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he is portrayed by Michael Rooker.

While there were hardly any boring characters in GOTG 1 and 2, Yondu was, without a doubt, the funniest and most charismatic individual, cracking me or pulling emotions out of me at the most unexpected moments.

Yondu Udonta:

"He may have been your father, boy, but he wasn't your daddy."

In the second movie he is so sweet with the others and he die for saving Peter.

Ha! They put merle from walking dead in there! He was amazing!

9 Mantis
10 Ronan Ronan the Accuser is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he is portrayed by Lee Pace.

I place all Thanos' crew above all the heroes personally and Ronan is no exception; I also favored Proxima Midnight, Cull Obsidian, Corvus Glaive, & Ebony Maw in the Avengers 3 flick. They are all pretty much the type of characters I love most and only appear onscreen when necessary without eating airtime or getting "developed" but rather, kicking major tail and getting beaten beautifully and climactic making me love them even more. All Thanos crew for the win.
