Hansi was a guest singer on 2 Edguy songs and singing with Tobias Sammet was great (Out Of Control, Vain Glory Opera).
I think Hansi was probably invited but he had several side projects after 2000 and was too busy (Demons & Wizards, Ayreon, and some smaller ones).
Update: this happened in 2019! (but the album was recorded in 2018).
