Richard Hugh "Ritchie" Blackmore is an English guitarist and songwriter, best known for his work in the hard rock/metal bands Deep Purple and Rainbow. He was ranked number 16 on Guitar World's "100 Greatest Metal Guitarists of All Time" in 2004, and number 50 in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" in 2011. In 2016 he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as one of original members of Deep Purple. Should be on number one in my opinion. He plays from pop to metal, jazz to classical. He is the only guitarist in 60s I saw doing shredding and sweep picking. He was inspired from many guitarists. And adapted all of their techniques. Vibrato from Eric Clapton, Whammy Bar - Hendrix, Fingerpicking -Jeff Beck, Allman Brothers etc.
Really the most advanced player of 60s.

He was known for his neoclassical metal playing style back in the 1980s. Yngwie is a technical guitar player. But he plays the same licks over and over again. Thus it makes him a limited guitar player. He got his training from classical lessons. But his innovation didn't stand long. Even Ritchie Blackmore doesn't like his works.
