Best Guitarists Ever

The Contenders: Page 13

241 Warren De Martini

I'm surprised no one has brought this guy up he may not be top ten but he's top 50 for sure and he's definitely better than slash...

I'm biased here as I was gently led into heavy metal rock by Ratt. DeMartini was the driving force behind my not being able to stay away any longer. By 1984 I was listening to Ratt, Night Ranger, and the Scorpions simply because of the guitars!

Love his sound! Totally underrated!

242 Karl Sanders, Nile Karl Sanders, Nile Karl Sanders is an American musician, most widely known as the founding member of the American ancient Egyptian-themed technical death metal band Nile.

Karl Sanders is a very technical, death metal guitarist. He may not be one of the best guitarists ever, but no doubt he is very good. Songs like 'What may safely be written' and 'Annihilation of the Wicked' prove it!

243 Jack Barakat (All Time Low)

One of the best guitarists ever. If you listen to an All Time Low song you'll know what I mean. He is just amazing. Not only he plays extremely well but he also looks hot. Should be at the top at the list, not at the bottom. - Rachel

244 Tony McPhee

Back in the early 70s was when the groundhogs were at there peak, Tony TS mcphee was in top 5 guitarists regular. "Split" was and still is one of the best prog rock albums ever made, and Tony could make his guitar talk. Greatly underrated, Tony still tours today

245 Teru, Versailles

Teru is not one of the best guitarist on the Earth, he IS the best guitarist! He plays with emotion, and when you listen a music he has composed, you understand his feelings and what is the message he want to pass. When I'm listening to "For You", I'm almost crying and when it's "Flowery", a lot of energy flow in my veins!
Teru is my favourite guitarist for all of that and also because he plays very fast and he's very cool, nice and listening to the public. Thank you Teru!

Teru has an amazing and unique sweep picking technique and can play extremely fast.
He improved a lot during the last years.
I my opinion he's the best guitarist in the world!

Teru is amazing, he plays with emotion. His technique is wonderful.
He is a great person too and his songs are sweet and powerful...

Teru is the best... No doubt
Their songs full of love and sentiment reach the hearts of all his fans. It is a very special person, I admire him a lot.

251 Jason Becker

Not only are his skills godlike, his music is great too! Unlike EVERY OTHER Shredder out there (Except Marty Friedman, who is another one of my favorites)! If he didn't have ALS, he would rule the world... Listen to his solo album 'Perpetual Burn' if you don't believe me, or if you're too lazy, search "Jason Becker serrana" on YouTube...

Awesome! All I can say is search this guy on YouTube. Listen to him with your eyes closed then experience watching him. It is crazy, he is truly amazing his technique is one very few can mimic. So Jason should be in the top ten. Listen to Perpetual Burn. Higher or just Google him and listen to his music. You will not be disappointed

Billie Joe, Kurt Cobain are you nuts or something. Jason Becker is easily one of the greatest metal guitarist of all time. Listen to altitude. That songs had so much emotions that even 1000000 slashs can't match. Great changes but they just added to the beauty of the song. Really his body wasn't much supportive otherwise he could have easily been next to Hendrix. He has done so much at such an early age and then stopped, and that's quite unfortunate, that we imagine that Beethoven or Vivaldi is playing the instrument.

There are definitely so many wrongs in this list
he should be in the top 10
or even top 5
even with his ALS (which he can't play guitar anymore) he can make throbbing tunes

252 Elliott Smith

Look at the tempo and picking patterns. I believe he is very UNDER RATED.

253 Phil Collen

Phil collen was guitaring since the 70's he was fast original and made his own guitar his solo on say photograph and foolin should be ranked higher he in my opinion is in the top 5 guitarists of the 80's that's all I got to say

So overlooked, just like his band. definitely one of the best, at least out of those still living.

Definitely should be in top 50 this list is wacked in some spots

When steve clark died phil had to learn everthing that e done for the 5th album and inpressive solo's as well -

255 Kaoru

Kaoru's the best guitarist I've ever heard... Die is amazing but Kaoru is just a bit better... Kaoru should really be top of this list... No one can compose songs the way he does... I think it's just because the Western side are so ignorant that people like the ones mentioned are here... He's the best!

I don't know of any other guitarist who could come up with such unusual, gorgeous and emotionally bright parts in his songs. The sounds of his guitar just a shot in my heart from the first solos I've heard.

KAORU'S an awesome leader and guitarist!.. He is a beautiful composer as well and loves his band members

Dir en grey totally rocks! Kaoru is so, so talented!

256 Robin Trower

Trower is the guitar god. The best guitarist in history. I've seen all of the greats and Trower tops them all. His sentivity, note selection, emotion, power, sense of psychedelic mysticism, jazz-like improvizations and most of all his songwriting. Trower always wrote mature songs unlike the teenage anthems of his contemporaries. Trower was and still is the greatest of all time - bar none.

Was a legendary 70's guitar soloist with many hit albums including the best rock album, "Bridge of Sighs". Incredibly fast overtones and sweet licks, surely one of the best guitarists ever.

Jimi Hendricks even said he thought Trower was better then he was. If you have never listen to him before, you have got to here him and then he should be put in the top 2. The best and hardist working guitarist ever.

It's ridiculous to see Trower so low. Top 100 for sure.

257 Kyle Gass

He is doing comedy yeah, but MAN he is a good guitarist.

KG should be higher he can flat out play some of his riffs are amazing... Underrated

Tenacious D. is fun, mostly because of brilliant songwriting from this guy.

258 Elvis Elvis Elvis Presley was a American musician and actor. Known as "The King" He was mostly known for his number 1 singles including "Heartbreak Hotel" "Hound Dog" "Jailhouse Rock" "Love me Tender" Elvis debuted in the movie "Love me Tender" and focused less on his music and continued that way. more.

This is so wrong elvis is the king of rock and roll

259 Andy Mckee

He's a guitar orchestra on his own. 6 strings + 10 fingers = A million sweet melodies all at once! He's one of those great guitarists who have a great mastery of the instrument it's as if the guitar was invented just for his hands. It always amazes me that 1 guitar could make all those sounds at once. I believe Andy Mckee should be #1 on this list because he proves that you don't need electric guitar effects to sound good. Hell he even uses alternate tunings for each song giving them their own unique chord progression. NOW that's a great guitarist. One who can push the instrument to it's musical limits. Just listen to Drifting, Ebon Coast and Common Ground. You'll definitely love the guy.

260 Mick Taylor

The heart and soul of The Rolling Stones for 5 brillant years. Listen to his solo on Time Waits For No One, a stunningly beautiful coda to his career with those geezers. Also one of the best slide guitarist around, check out All Down The Line! His vibrato on Love In Vain, off the live Get Your Ya Ya's Out LP, is exquisite! On his first solo release, simply titled Mick Taylor, he expands his turf to include fusion and does an excellent job. Broken Hands rocks harder than anything the Stones have done since his departure and Alabama contains more great slide guitar. Give him a listen!

Mick Taylor is at the three best guitarists of the 70s along Page and Blackmore and at least at the 10 best of history. And his also by far the most underrated guitarists. Just listen Sway, Time Waits For No One, Love in Vain, Dancing with Mr D, Wild Horses, and the live versions of Gimme Shelter, Jumping Jack Flash, Street Fighting Man, Satisfaction

I often wonder what the Stones would have done if Taylor had stayed. His solo on Love In Vain from the 72 U.S. tour movie "Ladies and Gentlemen" says it all... The other solo work I love to listen to is on "Can't you hear me knocking" from Sticky Fingers. Smooth.

Certainly deserves higher than 260 for being a member of the Rolling Stones alone.
How can such a talent be down in the bilges on this showboat.
Great player and not enough recognition now possibly.
