Hardest Songs to Play on Guitar

The Contenders: Page 5

81 A Late Summer's Rain/schizophrenia - John Petrucci

The most shredtastic song on the planet. Just listen to the whole thing. Starts out soft and builds up to an extremely intense shred!

82 Bodhisattva - Steely Dan
83 Stash - Phish
84 Tetragrammaton - The Mars Volta
85 Cry for Eternity - Dragonforce

So many guitar solos, pretty much impossible to play the whole thing without messing up

86 Never Going Back Again - Fleetwood Mac

Unless you have more than 4 arms, you'll be having a hard time picking this song.

87 Hallowed Point - Slayer
88 Freewill - Rush

The solo could stump Van Halen. No question about it. Did Eddie Van Halen play in weird time signatures with 2 other musical virtuosi? Nope.

89 Welcome Home - Coheed & Cambria
90 Battery - Metallica
91 Scarified - Racer X
92 Wave of Babies - Animals as Leader
93 Hydra - Covet

This song requires a lot of muscle memory and complex tapping. Good job Yvette Young, good job.

94 Highway Star - Deep Purple

It has a fast, confusing 2nd solo. It's even harder if you try to play the first solo on a guitar

I agree. The rhythm part also requires a lot of practice. or the riffs, its not very hard to remember the chords. But you need to keep strumming it for quite a long time, needs quite a lot energy. The solo also needs quite a lot chord progression practice before starting it. - zxm

95 The Way It Ends - Prototype
96 Thunderstruck - AC/DC
97 Fade to Black - Metallica
98 Hail to the King - Avenged Sevenfold
99 Folklore - Big Big Train
100 Desert Storm 2 - Ibrahim Ahmed Kamal
