Hardest Songs to Sing

The Top Ten

1 Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen

This song is insanely hard to sing. My sister (a low alto) and I (a mid low soprano) have to both sing this to hit the high and low notes

Best song ever. Queen is the most amazing, talented band ever. There wouldn't be classic rock without them

2 Painkiller - Judas Priest

This is very difficult start to finish - very fast and high pitched singing, shrieks, screams, and especially his perfect sustain of about 18-19 seconds at the end. - Metal_Treasure

3 Parallels - As I Lay Dying
4 The Air that I Breathe - All that Remains
5 This Darkened Heart - All That Remains
6 Given Up - Linkin Park

Except the scream that is really long, the song is very easy to sing. But there are many songs with screams longer than this scream that aren't on this list. I know about songs with screams that are 25, 28 and even 33 seconds long. - Metal_Treasure

Try doing the 17 second scream in the middle - spiderskull98

This song is easy and even if you disagree with me it doesn't belong over I will always love you. - PewPewAssassin

7 I Will Always Love You - Whitney Houston

Going from belt to head voice... and also range range RANGE

Definitely one of the hardest song to sing.

8 This Calling - All that Remains
9 Chop Suey! - System of a Down
10 Child in Time - Deep Purple

It's over 10 minutes long with tempo changes and Ian Gillan screams for about 2 minutes at the end (after 8:00). These are golden screams. - Metal_Treasure

The Newcomers

? Thunderstruck - AC/DC
? Viva la Vida - Coldplay

The Contenders

11 My Last Sunrise - Demons & Wizards

Difficult because it requires high degree of versatility - there are frequent and sudden switches/transitions, and it needs both smooth angelic soft voice and powerful demonic harsh voice. The emotion is also difficult to replicate. Screams are so melodic.
The song structure is progressive - it has several parts that are not repeated (it doesn't even have a chorus). Great job Hansi Kürsch! - Metal_Treasure

12 Abigail - King Diamond

This dude has the craziest falsetto I've ever heard and a vocal range of 4+ octaves. - Metal_Treasure

13 Keeper of the Seven Keys - Helloween

The song is about 14 minutes long with difficult vocal lines but the most impressive thing is the series of perfect sustains after 12:30, one of them is about 18 seconds long. Pure eargasm. Great job Michael Kiske! - Metal_Treasure

14 Crawling - Linkin Park
15 B.Y.O.B. - System Of A Down
16 And Then There Was Silence - Blind Guardian

14 minutes of epic singing (I prefer the 2012 version). Hansi Kürsch left his throat on these complex and overlapping vocal harmonies - you hear a choir but there's no choir, he's the only singer. The song is very complex with symphonic arrangements and many tempo changes but it's mostly fast and energetic. - Metal_Treasure

17 Twist - Korn

Why is this so low? This is impossible to sing! - NikBrusk

18 Hounds - Savatage
19 Face The Day - From Ashes To New
20 The March of the Black Queen - Queen
