Most Hated Book Characters

These are the most hated book characters. The ones which get a lot of criticism, not just the ones which are pure evil
The Top Ten
1 Dolores Umbridge - Harry Potter

Why is Umbridge not at 1? Not even the fanbase can make her look good, (fanbase makes a LOT of things look good.) Not that there IS any fanbase for her.

It makes so much sense that she is first. At some point, everyone is going to admit that they hated her more than Voldemort.

How the hell is this not above Snape? It's she who is hated by the whole HP fandom!

What an insanely horrible person

2 Joffrey Baratheon - Game of Thrones Joffrey Baratheon is a fictional character in the A Song of Ice and Fire series of fantasy novels by American author George R. R. Martin, and its television adaptation Game of Thrones.
3 Severus Snape - Harry Potter Severus Snape is a fictional character in J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. He is characterised as a person of great complexity, whose coldly sarcastic and controlled exterior conceals deep emotions and anguish.

It's true. I certainly couldn't stand the character, anyway.

4 Ashfur - Warriors Series Ashfur is a character created by Erin Hunter for the book series named Warrior Cats. Ashfur is a muscular pale gray tom with darker flecks and dark blue eyes. He has short, thick fur, and a torn ear.

I like both Hollyleaf and Ashfur. I just couldn't stand watching Ashfur change so dramatically from an innocent cat to a violent one. By the way, I explain more of why I like Ashfur on my profile.

I've seen more screaming about him than I care to participate in. Us Warriors fans have the most ridiculous arguments, myself included.

5 Squirrelflight - Warriors Series

I always personally thought she was annoying and so full of herself. Plus I did feel like she used Ashfur, and threw away the fact that she had a very strong bond with him.

She did nothing to be ashamed of

She's not the best, but not too bad.

6 Amy Dunne - Gone Girl
7 President Snow - Hunger Games
8 Voldemort - Harry Potter Lord Voldemort is a fictional character and the central main antagonist in J. K. Rowling's series of Harry Potter novels. Voldemort first appeared in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, which was released in 1997.
9 Bella Swan - Twilight Series

She should be number 1 worst character

A Mary Sue- She should be number one.

10 Napoleon - Animal Farm

For a pig, he's pretty cruel.

The Contenders
11 Millie - Warriors Series Millie is a character in the Warriors series. She's a small, short-furred light gray tabby with blue eyes and a torn ear. Also current mate of Graystripe and mother of Bumblestripe, Blossomfall and Briarlight.

Bad mom of the year award to Millie. She babied her injured child and ignored her other two kids so much that one of them started 'training in hell,' as Moonkitti puts it.

12 Monks - Oliver Twist

He's a cowardly half-brother that should just die.

13 Celaena Sardothien - Throne of Glass

Cocky, rude, overpowered and somehow she is the hero of the story! Honestly she wasn't the awesome assassin the story wanted us to believe she was. She was just a spoiled entitled brat who dragged the rest of the story down with her.

Celaena was aanoyyin the last book of the throne of glass serries but overall I don't think she's that bad. The real annoying person is Rowan!

14 Morrowseer - Wings of Fire

We were all mad at this guy. Crushing the dreams of dragonets.

He's a traitor!

15 Queen Scarlet - Wings of Fire
16 Edward Cullen - Twilight Edward Cullen is a fictional character in Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series. He is featured in the books Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn, and their corresponding film adaptations, and the as yet unfinished novel Midnight Sun—a re-telling of the events of Twilight from Edward's perspective.
17 Alma Coin - Hunger Games
18 Mildred - Fahrenheit 451
19 Dovewing - Warriors Series Dovewing is a character in the Warriors series by Erin Hunter. She has pale gray fur with green, pr sky-blue, or pale gold eyes. Her first appearance is in the fourth arc, know as Omen of the Stars, in the book The Fourth Apprentice. She was part of the Power of Three, and her power was to hear and see things very far away, farther than any normal cat could ever do. Her parents are Whitewing and Birchfall, and her sister is named Ivypool. She has three kits; Lightleap, Pouncestep, Shadowsight, and a mate named Tigerstar. (The second)

OH GOD I HATE THIS CHARACTER SHE ONLY EXISTS TO REPLACE HOLLYLEAF. MARY- SUE.
Sorry for the angry rant, but I just kinda hated her and she pretty much made me given up on warriors as a whole.

20 Ivypool - Warriors Ivypool is a fictional character created by Erin Hunter for the Book series named Warrior Cats. Ivypool is a common silver-and-white tabby. She spied in the Dark Forest and has dark blue eyes. She is the sister of Dovewing and the kit of Whitewing and Birchfall. Her mate is Fernsong, and she is the mother of Flipclaw, Bristlefrost, and Thriftear.
21 Jinjur - Oz
22 Cheesethief - Redwall

Guys, we all hate this dude, admit it. Jealous little vermin, like enough to kill a captain to become captain. That's a low even for vermin.

23 Peter Hayes - Divergent
24 Rita Skeeter - Harry Potter
25 General Woundwort - Watership Down
