The Top Ten
1 Cancer - My Chemical Romance Cancer - My Chemical Romance Cover Art

Any My Chem fan knows that this had to be on the list. It is a heartbreaking love story that makes us (or at least me) tear up. Every. Single. Time. "I will not kiss you. Cause' the hardest part of this is leaving you." So sad!

It makes you want to cry.

2 Golden - Fall Out Boy Golden - Fall Out Boy Cover Art

This isn't as known when it comes to Fall Out Boy. But it should be. This is from the album "Infinity on High" and I love it! The chorus is so beautiful. "All the mothers raised their babies to stay away from me."

3 The Sound of Silence - Disturbed The Sound of Silence - Disturbed Cover Art

Ugh. I don't even know where to start. Though it may not really be an 'emo' song, it deserves it's place. The vocals are so incredible, and the cellos in the background are just beautiful. This is sung by a heavy metal artist, which impresses the heck out of me. And the gentle timbre is just ugh... so PRETTY!

Farthest thing from emo, and a more or less terrible cover of a timeless classic.

4 House of Gold - Twenty One Pilots House of Gold - Twenty One Pilots Cover Art

The lyrics and ukulele are the two best parts of this song. The chorus: "she asked me son when I grow old, will you buy me a house of gold" is so heartbreaking and beautiful. Highly recommend this song!

5 My Immortal - Evanescence My Immortal - Evanescence Cover Art

Oh my god. The vocals. Just listen to it! It's amazing! And the lyrics! "These wounds won't seem to heal, this pain is just too real. There's just too much that time cannot erase" So amazing!

6 The Light Behind Your Eyes - My Chemical Romance The Light Behind Your Eyes - My Chemical Romance Cover Art

This is sad to a whole new level.

7 Misguided Ghosts - Paramore Misguided Ghosts - Paramore Cover Art

The acoustic guitar. Just the acoustic guitar. Listen to it and you'll know what I mean. "And run from them, from them, with no direction. We'll run from them, from them with no conviction. Cause' I'm just one of those ghosts." My god. "Brand New Eyes" is just one of those albums.

8 Cancer - Twenty One Pilots Cancer - Twenty One Pilots Cover Art
9 Impossible Year - Panic! At the Disco Impossible Year - Panic! At the Disco Cover Art

It has a classic blues-ish feel. And the lyrics are meaningful. "There's no sunshine, there's no you and me, there's no good times this impossible year." It is so gentle and so different from the usual Panic! but in the best way.

10 Heavy - Linkin Park & Kiiara Heavy - Linkin Park & Kiiara Cover Art
The Contenders
11 All I Wanted - Paramore All I Wanted - Paramore Cover Art

"Think of me when you're out there." The opening line to the song, sets the mood for the song, then when the electric guitar opens the next verse, the beauty continues, because of the lyrics. "All I Wanted" is a great song.

12 I Don't Love You - My Chemical Romance I Don't Love You - My Chemical Romance Cover Art
13 House of Memories - Panic! At the Disco House of Memories - Panic! At the Disco Cover Art

It may not be as gentle, and minor chord-filled, but if you listen to the lyrics, and it's meaning, you will see the place it deserves on this list. "And when your fantasies become your legacy, promise me a place in in the house of memories." And the opening line "If you're a lover you should know, the lonely moments just get lonelier the longer you're in love, than if you were alone."

14 Goner - Twenty One Pilots Goner - Twenty One Pilots Cover Art

It's a break-up song. It has to be pretty. I can't help but love it. "If I ever let you down... I'm sorry." The sadness in that line and many others is why it ends up on this list.
